Kings Canyon Veterinary Hospital
I would love to think the staff of the Dr. at Kings Canyon veterinary hospital. At the time when I was recommended to this veterinarian hospital I was connected through the Internet, I typed in the symptoms of my little dog clearly and that address popped up as a recommendation. So I took my poor little sick Lily ... I really thought I would have to put her down but Dr. looked at her and with this beautiful trusting face, I trusted and the staff was so kind and beautiful towards me and my pet. In a moment like this when you're torn between your heart and your pocketbook you understand what grateful really means and I was very grateful, now Lily is up and around and behaving as normal and happy as she has always done ! putting her down would have been a big mistake ! but I knew I had to do my best and so I did with support from the staff and the doctor I am truly happy with the services Lily and I receive... And I highly recommend this veterinary hospital...... on so many levels ! again I would like to express my gratitude and my gratefulness to people who really care.Thank you, thank you, thank you and may God always keep your establishment safe and always abundantly full... Sincerely yours Mrs. Gloria Larson Fresno California PS. Lily will be going in for some dental work next week so please send my little girl some good energy ! Blessed be !

Animal Hospital & Bird Clinic
I brought my dog to Dr. Hill for a couple of years. The prices are very reasonable and competitive. Her care is above and beyond that of any other vet I have ever used. She truly has a connection to the animals. She would love on her and talk to her as if she was her own. We recently lost our girl and Dr. Hill and her staff really made it a comfortable moment for both my dog and myself. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else in the future.

Sierra View Animal Hospital
I love the staff at Sierra View. They are always helpful and friendly, and very sweet to my pet. Dr. Scheidt is equally as wonderful. I always feel confident in her abilities and care for my dog. They have also been very good to us in the past when we were on a tight budget. I have since referred a good friend of mine, and she feels the same way about this place. Very highly recommended.

Sierra View Animal Hospital
Dr Scheidt is very caring, understanding, and is more than willing to work with you if you're on a budget. I have had to say goodbye to a couple of furry friends recently, and Dr Scheidt and her staff were great, they even sent sympathy cards in the mail. Prices are fair for the market, facilities are clean and well kept. Staff is polite, which seems to be rare these days. : )

Olive Veterinary Hospital
I have taken my animals to both Dr. Michael Suda and his dad when he was the Vet, for decades, and have always an excellent experience. My cats seem to be very calm around the Dr. and he has always taken good care of our furry friends! the reason I saw this YP review is because I am making an appointment today for one of my kitties and was looking up Olive Vet's hours.

NorthPointe Animal Hospital
I have used Dr. McIntyre at Northpointe Animal hospital for a number of years and always found her to be not only professional, but cares deeply for the animals she treats. She takes care of all four of my animals and I have complete confidence in her as a vet.

My wife an I have taken our dogs to Dr Suda for years. You could not find a nicer, more caring vet anywhere. He is always helpful, and puts the quality of life of my pet first. A great vet and a fantastic person.

Abby Pet Hospital
They are always good about working my dogs in when I have an emergency. The staff is friendly, their office is clean and professional, and the wait time is generally less than 10 minutes.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
