Sears Appliance Repair
When I called the representative, I believe his name was Jerimiah, refused to schedule a service call. My husband got on the phone and repeatedly asked for a customer service supervisor. At one point Jerimiah actually told my husband that he was about to hang up on my husband. After a few terse comments from my husband advising Jerimiah that he really did not want to disconnect the conversation, Jerimiah put a supervisor on the phone, who immediately scheduled a repair date. Obviously, I would not rate Jerimiah very high, however, the technician, Glenn, who responded, was exceptional. Unfortunately, he had to order a replacement part. Glenn returned the following week and made the installation. Glenn gets my highest rating!!! Jerimiah, on the other hand was a complete failure as a customer representative and please feel free to tell both Glenn and Jerimiah my ratings! Please let them know!!

I had service done on my washing machine about 1 week ago. I called for service on Monday, by Thursday my machine was fixed. Great experience! My technician was wonderful and kept me informed the whole time. My appt had a window between 8 & 5, my tech made it possible for it to be at a more convenient time for my work schedule, moving another appt up earlier, so as to make both households happy. Great experience! Thanks for the great service.

Unfortunately I had to wait over a week before the repair was made. The day after the repair was made, the treadmill stopped again. I called again and now I have to wait another week before the repair man comes. It seems to me there should be a mechanism for an "immediate" repair if the previous one did not "take". I understand that another glitch can happen that was not immediately apparent but a wait of one whole week is unacceptable to me.

I made my appointment online and that was extremely easy. The service technician was knowledgeable, had the part available to fix the washing machine and offered great pricing for a maintenance agreement for all of the appliances in my home. I was very pleased with the appointment, timing, fix and added services he offered. I would call Sears Appliance Repairs again and again.

The serviceman was an obvious expert in his profession. He did a complete tuneup, oil change, blade change and mechanical check of my Bolens lawn tractor in 45 minutes. Had all the parts needed on his truck. Plus Sears had a riding mower service special going on. I'll have him back next year.

Was able to book at appt online in the evening when our washing machine broke mid-cycle. Appt was within 24hrs. Repairman got here the morning of Christmas Eve and knew right away what the problem was and had a part in his truck. Back in business later that morning!

The technician was prompt, courteous, and kept me informed on what was being done. Parts were necessary, and the technician installed them a day earlier than anticipated. This was a positive experience.

Tips & Advices
Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.
Replacement parts generally come with warranties extending anywhere from 30 days to five years, depending on the original price, the nature of the fix and the age of the part itself.
If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
