Franklin Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine
I absolutely love Franklin Orthopaedics and ALL of the staff (you know they like you when they joke around with you), they are like family, honestly I love going here. Love Dr. Jeff but love the PA's too. Went in today and Chris Hendrix, PA is so kind and compassionate and answers ALL of my questions, without me feeling like I am taking up his time. I know I hit him with a lot of questions and concerns. He went into detail of everything I needed answered. He is sending me for a MRI on my knee on Tuesday. I have done a lot of research on what he thinks COULD be a problem I am having, and he also helped me out with all of my inherited arthritic problems. Thank you Franklin Orthopaedics!!!!!

Franklin Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine
I love this practice and have been with them for almost a decade. When you have an injury you can get an appointment the same day and the doctors and staff will spend time with you. Upon an orthopedic injury don't go to the ER unless that's your last resort or if you are in dire peril. I appreciate that surgery is their last resort and that they are part of the changing word of medicine and offer Platelit Rich Plasma, which has helped with my arthritic knees. I hope to see stem cell transplants to come.

Fell and broke my arm - actually, turned out to be a bad break at the elbow - they got me in that very afternoon. Great people on staff. My favorite physician office ever!

Dr. Gil Center for Back, Neck, and Chronic Pain Relief
Great staff and FAIR pricing! If you need an xray or an adjustment, go see them! They will NOT charge you an arm or a leg but will give you great service!

Young, Kevin M, MD
Rude Pompous physician with ZERO bedside manner... NO manners at all. Hateful attitude to patients. Blames patient for missing records from physicians own office files. Lacks compassion. Find another doctor... This one needs to show he cares about people.....apparently he cares only for himself. BIG EGO... TOTAL ZERO. He is an embarrassment to his profession. He is a cardiologist with no heart.

Vanderbilt Orthopaedics Cool Springs
Check price of your procedure and make sure it is a good price! Remember that even though they might bill your insurance company, the bottom line is that the more they charge, the more your insurance will cost you as the years progress! Care about how much a doctor charges for a service!

Vanderbilt Bone and Joint Clinic
Dr. Michael McNamara gave me my life back. He first did lumbar surgery and more recently, cervical spine fusion. From being in constant pain I am back to normal and able to live my life again. His bedside manner matches his amazing skill. I would recommend him to anyone with a spine problem.

Walk-In Medical Center of Cool Springs
Dr. Rudge and his whole staff are excellent. I rarely have to wait more than a few minutes to be seen but more than that the medical care is far superior to some of the "grocery store" clinics.I am grateful for the excellent care I have received there ! Thanks Dr. Rudge !!
Tips & Advices
Scoliosis is a disorder where the spine curves sideways. Most people develop the condition during the growth spurt before puberty. The cause of scoliosis is unknown and most cases are mild, but the rare severe instances can disable a person.
Orthopedic surgeons attend four years of medical school, then four to five years of orthopedic residency in a hospital. They must also be licensed and certified in orthopedic surgery by the state in which they practice.
The terms "orthopedic doctor" and "orthopedic surgeon" refer to the same profession. Related specialties include podiatrist, a doctor who works with the bones, tendons and ligaments in the feet, and a sports medicine physician, a doctor specially trained to treat athletes.
The cost of a visit to an orthopedic surgeon depends on the type of tests ordered and treatment given. For example, an MRI costs $500-$1,300. An initial consultation costs $100- $500, while anesthesia for a procedure generally ranges from $2,000-$4,000. Overall, an orthopedic surgery can cost anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000.
During a consultation or first appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, the practitioner will ask the patient a variety of questions to understand the situation. The surgeon might ask about the patient's pain levels, medical history, and any prior injuries. Then, the surgeon will administer a physical exam and possibly schedule tests to better understand the problem. Possible tests include a stress test, x-ray, or MRI.
