Peddler's Alley
I've been a frequent visitor for more than two decades to this business. In my career as an educator, sometime actor, set designer and props seeker, I've always found something that I needed for a given purpose. Recently I needed something that could be turned into a ships helm (steering wheel) which was perfectly created from a loaned part of a spinning wheel's wheel, a solid and sturdy old fashioned weighted music stand and wood work accomplished by White Aspen Woodworking in Lafayette, Indiana. Their web page on Facebook currently shows the helm under construction for our show Moby Dick-The Musical which just concluded its three day run Saturday 28 January 2017. https://www.facebook.com/WhiteAspenWoodworking/Between Peddler's alley and White Aspen, most of our major pieces including a peace pipe, two benches for various scenes, the iron based music stand of many years, and the spinning wheel gave authenticity to much of the required finished look of our stage. Thank you Peddler's Alley - and DAVE! Michael J. Peterson (appreciative store visitor)
