We spent the past two nights at this B&B, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary! In those 20 years, we've gone to a lot of little get-aways. This place was THE best we've been to! The old house is beautiful, warm, and inviting! The hosts greeted us and were extremely nice and informative. They asked right away if we wanted tea, lemonade or hot cocoa. We chose the hot cocoa, which was decadant and had peppermint marshmallows in it! In our room were three heart-shaped cookies with our names and one that said ""Make a memory."" The room was beautiful. The bed was so, so comfy with unbelievably soft sheets! The heart-shaped whirlpool tub was so relaxing! The first morning, breakfast arrived at our room at the time we had asked for it to be delivered. On the trays were red roses, a delicious omelet, fresh fruit, water, juice and coffee for me (cocoa for hubby), along with heart-shaped cinnamon rools. All was delicious!! That evening, we had big, juicy, chocolate-covered strawberries (which were part of our package). For breakfast this morning we had chocolate chip pancakes (heart-shaped, with a swirl of chocolate on top, powdered sugar, syrup and butter. There was also scrambled eggs and bacon. Every single thing we ate there was excellent! We were very fortunate to get these two nights at an extremely great price (it was one of the kb deals) but would be worth the full price - definitely! We definitely made a memory. And I hope to return sometime!!

My sister just got married in March 2012. We used the Rose Chapel's ballroom for the reception. The building was beautiful and perfect for our needs but we appreciated the staff and their hard work and professionalism more than anything. I was truly overwhelmed by every staff member there and how well they worked together. Everything was set up perfectly and exactly as we had asked on our arrival. We were able to self cater and leave instructions for the wait staff and they followe all instructions to the letter. The food was hot and ready when we arrived and was refilled quickly all evening long. The staff was always available for help and responded quickly and with courtesy when asked any questions. The efforts that they went to during the clean up were above and beyond any expectations and greatly appreciated! All of my platters and serving utensils were already washed and packed away when we came back from seeing the bride and groom off and they even helped us load up into our cars. I expected to be there for hours afterwards but we were packed up and out of there in no time and I can not tell you how much that meant to us after such a long week of wedding planning.

I could not have been happier with our wedding at 809 at Vickery. The owners Mary and Jane did a lot to help us figure out planning our wedding on our own and on a budget. The venue is BEAUTIFUL and in the two weeks since the wedding, my family and friends have not stopped raving about what a great wedding it was and how awesome the venue looked. Mary and Jane are patient and calm, helpful, and knowledgeable about weddings. Their venue is absolutely stunning and they take great care of it. They have style and make great decisions with decor and renovations. We spoke with a lot of local venues, we talked with a lot of couples, and we read a lot of reviews and blogs for the best local venue for our budget, and I couldn't, in good conscience, refer anyone looking for an event space to anyone but 809 at Vickery. After having the venue secure and being confident that all of the details on their side would be handled, I didn't stress at all about the wedding. And THAT is what I remember about our wedding: I was calm and happy, and everything looked and flowed beautifully.

Thank you for your interest in Weddings Your Way. Since 2006 I have specialize in many types of non-traditional wedding services. I feel everyone has a right to marry who they choose in a manner that suits their and their loved one’s personality and taste. Being a minister for a Universalism Church allows me to perform pretty much any type or style of marriage ceremony I choose. Not everyone wants to get married in the traditional church setting, with a long drawn out ceremony, or having their vows limited by a churches or ministers doctrine. I am here for those who want / need something outside the box. You want to get married at your Favorite spot at a city park. Your back yard, a place you met your loved one, all are options with my services, it is your wedding, you choose where you want to have it. I feel your rights, and wishes should and need to be taken into account in the planning of your wedding, your choices and wishes need to be respected, you know what you want and what makes you happy. My goal is to help you realize your dream of having a ceremony that is uniquely suited to you and your loved one.I encourage all people who wish to join together to write your own vows, something that is unique to you, and your way of life. I am available to assist in the planning of your ceremony and/or the writing of the marriage vows if you wish. The use of traditional vows is of course, also an option if you choose Again, I feel your wedding should be as personal and unique as you are, and I can be involved as little or as much as you would like.

If you are looking for a beautiful venue....in a truely historical setting....you have come to the right place when booking at Thistle Hill. As a pianist, I played 3 weddings there in 2012 and enjoyed each one very much. It is a very relaxing, lovely atmosphere to work in. I highly recommend Thistle Hill for your wedding and/or reception. My husband and I got married here in October and four months later I had to call to find out about my deposit. Tammy informed me that I had to email her a testimonial which I sent the same day and informed her that I would not pay for the security because she was suppose to have hired an off duty officer and it turned out to be her husband in a t-shirt. I called again two weeks later because I had received nothing, no call, no email and no deposit. It finally arrived another two weeks later at which time I call again because she has kept the amount for the security. She now informs me that she will now refund that amount minus the items that are missing. Missing? Why am I just now being informed of this? Also, there was no organization and no day of wedding direction day of as promised. We have to ask multiple times to have the punch set out and we have to ask them to announce that it's over. I do not recommend using this facility for your future events.
