Wound Care Hyperbaric Medicine
7/2013My 91 year old father stayed almost a month at this long term hospital after being referred by a doctor when he was in Baylor All Saints with brain seizures and extreme weakness. The facility was very clean, well staffed and very peaceful. The staff was communicative and friendly, very responsive and helpful most all of the time. The team effort was refreshing because there was so many working to get my dad better including the following:•Several physicians including his doctors, a neurologist, kidney doctor and a urologist who listened us about his personal background and to our requests regarding medication and feeding. •Very caring techs who took their time feeding him 3 times a day and noting where we could see it how much he ate and drank. They were also always willing to come in and reposition him and help us keep him comfortable when he was unable to move himself around. •Nursing staff which changed daily but always ready, willing and able to help, answer questions and pass on info to and from the doctors. •Respiratory and Dietary specialists who visited daily and kept up with his progress and tried to make improvements to help his recovery.•PT, OT and speech (swallowing) therapy team who worked diligently and patiently with him daily in a large and well equipped gym.•A receptionist who has been with Life Care for 17 years who always greeted us with a big smile and happy demeanor.Good attitudes, effective communication and a nice atmosphere helped tremendously as we visited daily even when he was in bad shape and not making much progress. We have been in other facilities that were very nice but it was the staff and administration that brought them down and kept us in a state of constant worry. We were completely happy with Life Care and only wished he could stay longer instead of leaving to go elsewhere when it was time to go to full on rehab at a nearby skilled nursing facility.

The only reason I'm marking this four stars and not five is because of the long wait times to get called in to see the doctor. I always have to wait at least 45 minutes when I visit. If they get this fixed up, I will change my rating. I will honestly always wait to see Dr. Patel, though! These long wait times tend to be due to the fact that they accept same-day appointments and even walk-ins though. The office is also open every Saturday morning, which is very helpful for people who work Monday-Friday 9:00 to 5:00.I keep going back though, even though I have to wait for forever, because Dr. Patel is amazing. He takes the time to listen to me. He is extremely patient, and doesn't ever make me feel rushed or uncomfortable. He truly seems to care about his patients. He even called after hours to verify an x-ray with me when I thought my foot might be broken because I slipped and fell. I have had lots of trouble in the past with feeling rushed and like I wasn't fully listened to by other doctors. Sometimes I ask what may seem like "silly" questions, because I tend to over think things. Dr. Patel has never made me feel rushed or stupid because of this like how other doctors have in the past. He's really a wonderful physician.

I would say to go some where else. The office had the feel of a government run health clinic. There was a little boy in the waiting room that was playing unedited Eminem. His dad did nothing. I am guessing this is a great place if you get Medicaid. They charged me $230.00 just for the office visit. I am sure it would have been cheaper to go to care now. I needed Xrays of my foot and they had NO idea how to read them. I was then sent to a foot specialist who had a machine that was for feet. I wish I had just gone there first. Live and learn. They charged $80 for the foot Xray. I will pay it and move on, but will never go back.

Nice clean, conveniently located establishment with an overall pleasant and professional staff (I've been seen by 3 of their healthcare providers). The 2 star rating is due to the WAIT (and complete disregard for my time), although I ALWAYS have an appt... Sometimes they don't check my insurance benefits until I'm there (again, although my appts. are scheduled well in advance). For example, today (as I write this post) I'm here for lab results (and benefits were checked in advance). My appt. was for 10:10, was taken back at 11:00; it's 11:47 and still no dr/np yet. Just didn't expect lab results to be TWO HOUR appt...

This is a great bunch of employees here and it is a Christian business which I really like. I've seen Dr. Saade, Dr. Deepthi, and NP Ochuka which were all very informed and polite and efficient. They have good hours and are flexible. I have had to wait a long time twice but I was a walk-in and they were very busy those days, but they still saw me as soon as possible. I have no insurance and the cash pay rates are reasonable. I feel more confident with a Christian doctor too. I would recommend this clinic to anyone especially if you need to be seen that day and not several days down the road. Julia

I don't know what I would do without such a wonderful, compassionate, thorough Pain Physician. I've suffered from chronic back pain for many years. She absolutely cares about her patients and their well-being. I'm blessed to have finally found such a professional yet concerned doctor. Her staff is fantastic and so helpful too! I've recommended Dr. Perl to a friend who suffers from chronic pain and I know she will be treated with the same care and compassion.

Beach Pain Center
I've been a patient at Beach Pain Center since April. I can't say enough about this center. Office staff is always available, treatment staff is very knowledgeable, and doctors take time with their patience. Overall, this is a center that I would recommend to family and friends because of the professionalism. The staff really lets you concentrate on your therapy while they handle all the paperwork. C. Lo

Had to wait awhile because of my insurance didnt open up til later they are on a diff coast but still it was in and out. The have an excellent pediatric doctor I am making them my family doctor too. If you are sick and need good affordable care there you go. The take medicaid as secondary insurance and bill you for the rest of what your insurance doesnt pick up. Staff was nice and very clean facility.

Dr. Perl's approach to medical practice is to say the least, outstanding! She takes approaches in medicine that place most other physicians in the little leagues. Highly experienced, but also has a keen precision in ruling out what is not present to determine indeed, what are the root causes. I am indebted to Dr. Perl for giving me back my upper body physical resilience and strength. Thanks!

An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
