I took my vehicle for shaking and wear on front tires. Prior to this, I had an alignment done at Tilden to make sure that was the issue. I was told it was very minimal and that was not it. March 25th I took it because the shaking was bad and the wear on tires was as well. I was charged $958.98 for replacing upper control arms and the shocks or struts, one of them. Charged $420 dollars for labor. In June the shaking began to get worse and the wear on the tires as well. End of June I had my tire was flat and took it to a shop. The guy there looked at the suspension area when I asked to check to see anything wrong because of the shaking. I was told everything under is old and you need replacing, which I though but I already had it fixed back in March. He said if they put the upper control arms they didn't replace the bottom which means that the news ones lock in and the old ones take the brunt of the pressure and will give out. I go back to Tilden today to try and resolve the issue and was offered an alignment and I had to pay $100 dollars for it to see if that was the issue. I asked why the alignment wasn't done correctly since the problem was to be fixed and the rep said that somebody didn't explain it to me, which is correct, no one said anything other than here is what you need and go for it. Even the taxi driver said that they were trying to get me to come back each time the another part broke which makes sense when while the truck was being worked on, they would have spotted issues that result in shaking, etc. I also learned that auto parts discount for auto shops and they save that money. I was charged 210 labor to install the shocks at $105 an hour. I was charged 210 for the arms same time frame. It would make sense to do the work all at once. I am not a mechanic so not sure how long it takes to replace the shocks and what the price on them are. Technically I was duped. So I will not spend another dime here.
Took my ford expenition in to get the spark plug and coil replaced, after almost two months later was told it couldn't be fixed (He gave me a sob story about how he'd been sick and was unable to fix it problem and had been in and out of the hospital) So later that week went to pick it up my vehicle (that runs but was just misfiring on one of its cylinders) and pay for it on the price we agreed on which I thought was reasonable (little under 300 because it couldn't be fixed and had it for so long after promising the job would only take three days at most) and was informed that the back of his shop where my car was being kept, was broken in to and many part of under the hood were stolen (K&N cold air intake cut out along with wires, battery and cables cut) was informed by mike that his insurance would be calling me but he insisted that because he was not currently working on it that his insurance wouldn't cover any damages, even tho it was locked in a gated area in the back of the garage. Talked to his insurance and was told repeatedly after a week after the the burglary had happen that he won't let the insurance adjuster in to the back area to asses the damages to any of the vehicles. So I Went to have my car towed so HIS insurance could asses it at another location so I could get the problem fixed, was first told he was waiting on the insurance to asses it, when I informed him I had already talked with his Insurance and they informed me he wasn't letting them do their job, was told not only could I not pay for my vehicle but I would have to cancel the tow truck that was already on its way and that I would have to try back Monday, only for him to call me three hours later and tell me the bill to get my car out is now $700. He is absolutely dishonest and shady.
