Arrived over an hour and a half late without courtesy call to say he's running late. On site his machine breaks. He left for over an hour to get a replacement machine. He said he went under the house which was not truthful because the entry way under the house was unscathed. He did find the exterior sewage clean out (we were not sure where it was). He did not apologize for the tardiness or for the job taking over 3 hours to complete due to carrying the wrong equipment on site. He attempted to charge me $330.00 for a basic rooter from the clean out, 100 feet. I told him that he'd come highly recommended and I would NOT be recommending him to anyone after showing up late, having faulty equipment and attempting to charge me the time it took for him to drive to wherever the other machine was being stored and the drive back to my home. He ran back out to the truck to double check his time and realized I was correct so he came down to $200. I appreciate them working in the cold. I had another guy who would not even work in those conditions so I do give them kudos for that. I would just really closely monitor them because they seem to like to ride the clock at the customers' expense. (I went out back to check on them after they first arrived they were out there just fiddling with the broken machine. Their hands were all dirty like they had been working on the machine for that first full hour because only THEN, did they say they needed to leave to get their better machine. They were out in the backyard for a full hour and starting to work before we even had a game plan together which I didn't like. I would recommend getting your estimate from them in WRITING before approving any work. He just saw me for money for some reason and thought I wasn't paying attention. When I say he, I am referring to the owner's son, accompanied by another gentleman.
Our hot water heater was 19 years old and dying a slow and painful death. We went from having hot water to water that was no better than luke warm in about a 2 week period. I was forced to take cold showers in the Army and was not having it. I looked online for a plumber that had a good rating and was lucky to find Clearwater. They earned every bit of their 5 stars. I called in one afternoon and scheduled an appointment for between 3 and 5 pm the next day. Paul, the tech, called me at 305pm to tell me he was on his way and about 20 minutes out. He showed up, was professional, thorough and didn't have a hint of the proverbial plumber's crack. He checked the water heater and our water pressure and gave me three strong options at very reasonable prices. After deciding just to replace the old piece of junk, he told me that he could be back out the next morning to do the job.The only hiccup we had was a call I received from Vic right after Paul left saying that they were booked solid the next day. Unfortunately we were leaving on a Spring Break trip that evening and wouldn't be back. Vic worked some sort of magic and was able to get Paul scheduled for the job the next day as promised. Paul and his apprentice showed up on time the next morning and were in and out in no time. They got me fixed, up to code and the hot water flowing again. I'm sure I could have paid someone a couple of bucks less to do the job but I wouldn't have received the level of service that I did. Clearwater Plumbers is now my go to for all of my plumbing needs. As a matter of fact, I'm going to have them back in a few months to add a water pressure booster to my system so that the hot water can literally just blast the dirt off of my kids.Thanks Paul. I started using John Miller Plumbing because of a commercial job bid over 3 years ago. They bid the job at an amount and came in less than half, so I was pleased with their honesty and have been using them at home and in my business since then. This past Sunday, we had a major commode backup at our house and since it was the weekend, I assumed that John Miller would be closed. We called another name-known plumber, and after about 90 minutes of unsuccessfully trying to unblock the backup, and my husband declining additional expenses of a camera to visually inspect and another $600.00 machine to use, because his normal auger was not working, we sent this plumber away and had to pay him $198.00 for not clearing the blocked line. I then called John Miller Plumbing to leave a message to request service for Monday, and Jimmy answered the phone. He said "Sounds like you have a problem, we'll be out in an hour." Jimmy and his co-worked showed up in less than one hour, worked in the hot afternoon sun to clear the blockage of our line, went to get a bigger auger, and cleared the stopped up line. He only charged $150.00! I was amazed and pleased. I will continue to recommend John Miller Plumbing.
Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Arlington, TX has been a godsend to us! We bought a home that was built in the mid-80's. The previous owners had lived here for 16 years and did not stay on top of the maintenance! We had serious issues with the flange on one of the toilets being broken, and also issues with the water heater. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing let us know that as part of the standard real estate inspection, checking the main drain as well as doing a pressure test was not included. Ben Franklin Plumbing checked both of these and at least there were no issues there! We also had fixtures in the main bathroom that needed replaced, and they did an excellent job there as well! I have never needed a plumber before, so I was a little wary about calling one when my water heater stopped producing hot water. From the moment the phone was answered to when the plumber drove away I was impressed! The call was answered by someone who booked my appointment for the same day, and once the plumber came out, the whole job was done in just a few hours. They cleaned up before they left, and it looked like they were never there. The plumber did end up having to replace my heater (it was 22 years old), but I got a new one at a fair price, and I was especially impressed with the warranty they put on it. It was something that could have been a long drawn out process, and they made sure it went smooth from beginning to end. Awesome company, and I highly recommend them.
TRUE TO THEIR NAME:BROKE A FAUCET PIPE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE RIGHT BEFORE THE BIG ICE STORM CAME. CALLED 20 OTHER PLUMBERS WITH NO LUCK ON GETTING ANYONE OUT TO HELP WITH MY EMERGENCY. SHANE SAID HE COULD DO IT AND CAME OUT AND FIXED THE PROBLEM WITHIN 1 HOUR. IF HE WOULDN'T HAVE COME OUT, MY FAMILY WOULD'VE BEEN WITH OUT WATER AND WOULD HAD TO STAY IN A HOTEL FOR DAYS UNTIL THE THAW. ALSO, HE ONLY CHARGED ME $125.00, GRANTED IT WAS AN EASY FIX, BUT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, I WAS PREPARED TO PAY MORE. I KNOW THEY MAY NOT ALWAYS BE THAT FAST...BUT NEXT TIME I NEED A PLUMBER, I'M CALLING EXPRESS MASTER PLUMBERS.
