I've been coming to this salon for a couple of years now and while I can agree that sometimes they aren't the friendliest, I've always received good service. I'm usually greeted when I walk in and after I sign-in I've never had to wait more than a few minutes before I'm directed to a chair. I have had both pedi's and mani's performed, some were done at the same time while at other times, when it's not so busy, they'll do them separately. I've always been pleased with the work performed and I'm usually in and out in a reasonable amount of time based on the service I'm having done. I can only recall one time where they were really busy and my pedi/mani went long but that's a rare occurrence. I don't ever make an appt as I prefer to just walk in and they have always been able to accommodate me. I have gone to other salons during the time I've been going here, mostly because of convenience reasons and I was greeted by those salons in the same kind of coolness...not rude, but just a perfunctory "hello, how can I help you". I don't mean this in a racially negative way toward the Asian community but I wonder if it's a cultural thing. The one thing that bugs me about many of the nail salons these days is that the employees hold conversations in their native language in front of their patrons. I do find that rude behavior, not by just this salon, but by all of them. They have recently updated their chairs and some of their equipment, as well as a new coat of paint and it really has freshened up the place. Prices for their services are reasonable and they have various choices to choose from to fit your budget. If you're looking for a spa experience, go to a spa. Your local nail salon, and I've gone to many others in and around the same area as VIP Nails are not spas, but they do provide a bit of pampering for the price.
If you're looking for a super fancy, sleek and more expensive nail salon, this is not your place. But what I want is a good solid manicure or pedicure at a decent price and that's what I get here. I've been coming here for probably 4 or 5 years now and after being in this salon maybe 150 times I've never known a salon that was more conscientious about making their customers satisfied. Example: I've been in a hurry & left before my nails were dry all the way--only to mess them up later myself. When I've offered to pay for fixing the nail which was my screw up--they've refused saying they just want me to be happy. Also, Lisa is the only person on this planet who I would trust to shape my brows. She listens and does it exactly the way you tell her you want it. One last comment: they're the only salon I know that has as an option the Vinylux line; when I have them apply this polish, it lasts as long as gel but doesn't require that my fingers sit under those lights (which I think is healthier). I get 2 to 3 solid weeks out of the polish and when I choose a neutral light color, you can't even see the growth. Very natural, only shiny.
