Johnson & Cohen Orthodontics
Great office and staff!! Everyone has been so friendly, caring and inviting. We have only worked with Dr. Johnson so far with my son Charlie and I can say he has been phenominal. Charlie was very nervous about getting his braces and Dr. Johnson took the time to talk him through the complete process ahead of time, show him some of the applicances and explain how they work. He also took the time to explain to Charlie what/how he would feel and what to expect the first week or so the day of application which helped to relax Charlie and give him a head's up about how he would be feeling. So happy to be working with Cohen & Johnson Orthodontics with my son and can't wait to get my daughter started back on her Orthodotic treatment as well. Thank you!!

The staff here is AMAZING! Everyone is so nice! The doctor took his time with my daughter discussing the best option for her! Lots of her friends from school that have braces all knew of Dr. Cohen and when they heard that's were my daughter was going to get her braces they all had the same comment... "He's the best!" Funny thing is they don't even see Dr. Cohen yet know what kind of work he does! My sister is a dental hygienist and told me that Dr. Cohen is the orthodontist to see... He's the best! She was right!!!

Your Review" Continuing on with treatment. Got some good info today and a new t-shirt. Braces will be off soon and Dr. Cohen is making a few more adjustments. It is a comfortable office to visit and we were in and out really quick! It is a friendly office, but do think the new front desk person could acknowledge people better. Kind of felt ignored just standing there. Was glad to check out with Courtney. This child's treatment has been more challenging, but we are hanging in there! "

I was in a few days ago and I cudnt believe how many people greeted me by name. I am not taking about the people with a computer screen in front of them with my name in it, but employees walking by. This place is by far the most professional place and most welcoming place. I am glad I get to experience this kind of environment through my treated. Thank you guys for making me feel belonged and valued.

I have had two children complete orthodontic treatment and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I have two more children that will be going here soon. They are the most advanced in the area and do an awesome job. My girl's smile is georgeous!! I recommend them to all my friends and family. Well worth the money for a lifetime of beautiful teeth. It's an investment in my children's future.

" I can't say enough about how satisfied I am about the treatment I have received. I have complete faith in their clinical skills. They will not be satisfied until they have achieved the best result possible. Everyone in the office has been very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. I would recommend this office to anyone. "

" The C &J team are amazing!!! They always make my daughter feel comfortable and at ease when she is there and in the chair. She now looks forward to coming. Also they are right there when you have a emergency that doesn't call for the ER, but still needs to be seen right now. I could not have picked a better place to bring her. "

With three kids in braces at the same time, scheduling is very important. I am always informed of the long-term plan for each child and accommodated with doubling up appointments when possible. In addition, everyone in the office is friendly and informative. A fantastic experience in every way!

I have been pleased by all of the staff. Sarah, the installation assistant, was very professional, helpful and informative about what she was doing, going to do and what I should do to help in my treatment. Thank you to everyone for making this part of my treatment so far smooth sailing.
Tips & Advices
While going to the orthodontist can be difficult, sometimes it's necessary. If you are concerned about tooth alignment, feel your jaw shift, or are experiencing problems like difficulty chewing or grinding your teeth, it's time to see an orthodontist.
There are generally three types of braces patients can be fitted for at the orthodontist:
  • The more traditional option, bands, wrap around most of a patient's tooth.
  • Brackets are the most popular, applied directly to the tooth in metal or plastic form.
  • Lingual braces are brackets attached to the back of teeth.
People of all ages can wear braces to straighten their teeth, but it is most common to be fitted for these adjustments between the ages of 10 and 14. This is the time when teeth are better able to be straightened because the head and mouth are still developing.
The American Board of Orthodontics recommends finding a dental specialist that is board-certified, offers free or reduced-price consultations, and displays qualities such as trustworthiness, ability to communicate effectively, and attentiveness.
Orthodontists must complete a four-year undergraduate program to gain admission to dental school. After earning a Doctor of Dental Science degree at an accredited four-year dental program, students must then either complete a post-degree training program or one to two years residency in orthodontics. Then they need to earn a state license in order to practice. Certain states also require board certification.
