Granite Ridge Builders, Inc
The worst workers on earth constant screw ups that they know they cause and do nothing to fix until they're confronted. Over 2 months behind on construction. Countless number of repairs. Rude and dishonest management.

Granite Ridge Builders, Inc
Beware of Granite Ridge!! They cut corners and do not fix issues that are clearly their fault. We moved in December of 2013 and I still am so disappointed with their quality. When we first built with them, they tried to sell us property in Perry Lake which they have no business selling. The land is not suitable for building. We had a soil test done and was told the dirt was not fit to be built on. They pressured us to continue building on this property even though they knew it was not good. After 6 months of wasting our time on that bad property, we found a different piece of land and was forced to build with them because we had already signed a contract. They told us we were going to be a top priority. We were far from being a priority. The whole building process was stressful for my husband who was always overseeing the project and calling to get things done in a timely fashion. If he wasn't on constantly we would not have finished on time. The last straw is our lawn. It looks terrible! When we told them that the grass was not growing, they said it was because we did not water it. My husband bought 12 hoses and was watering the lawn at all hours of the day and night, They cut corners by not putting top soil down and using a very thin layer of straw and cheap seed. I have seen other lawns of Granite Ridge and have noticed that those lawns look equally bad. Looks like Granite Ridge has a pattern of poor quality and blaming the customer. Also, the paint is cheap and when they come out to do the yearly check up, they said anything they paint won't match. That is ridiculous! After the carpet and lament flooring was installed, I nearly cried because it was so thin and cheap. After speaking with our representative, I was reassured that they only use top quality. Then the concrete in the drive way cracks and they take no responsibility We asked that they fix it and they refused. My husband was then forced to scream and curse to get our concrete drive fixed. Also my husband caught them only installing one sump pump when we clearly paid and asked for two. Luckily my husband was there the day they were about to pour the basement to stop them since they did not have both pumps installed or we would be left with only one sump pump.I could go on an one about how terrible and stressful the building process was with Granite Ridge. DO NOT BUILD WITH GRANITE RIDGE!

Stk Properties
I lived under the roof of one of the properties owned by STK properties and it was absolutely awful. Susan would come by stating complaints of other tenants when I was never home because was at work and when I WAS home I was sleeping. There were bug problems and when Susan would come by if I didn't answer my door before she knocked more that 2 times she would just let herself in. She also said I had to pick my clothes up off the floor because I was the reason for the bug problem. I never once had clothes on the floor when she came by so I believe she invaded my apartment when I was not home. STK properties is the WORST place I have ever signed a lease with. Susan does NOT know how to run a business and treats her tenants like incompetent children. Tom is a wonderful man but if you meet Susan, I am so sorry and I wish you the best of luck in all the times she will take you to court and make you pay for it.

Martin Enterprises, Inc.
I had a problem with some city work and Martin enterprises came out and demanded it get fixed today. They paid for it to be fixed with no hassles. It's amazing businesses like this still exist. Thanks Martin enterprises!

Stk Properties
This business is ran by two individuals. Tom is okay but Susan runs the business with no respect for their clients, has an egotistical attitude that makes up rules that aren't in the lease, and also will lie to you about rent not coming in. I have mailed them three rent checks all with tracking numbers and they insisted that one of the checks "didn't arrive" so they could charge me another 70 dollars. They also lie to you about complaints from neighbors. They always call me telling me not to be loud every night when I don't even stay there at night. On top of that, these people discriminate based on age, gender, race, and your criminal record. Also, the properties have been managed very poorly, there are build ups in the drains and pipes, there are bugs constantly crawling around, and it constantly smells like wet animals in the common areas. If you are looking to live like a normal person I would highly reccomend that you do not choose STK Properties for all the reasons above.

Pella Windows
I have received the most terrible customer service from this Pella company. I have a broken window in the front of my house for almost 24 hours and I can not get anyone on the phone. I continue to get recordings asking me to leave a message although I am calling during normal business hours. I have left messages and have not been able to get any responses other then another number to call in which no one answers the phone. Very disappointed in the customer service.

Delagrange Homes, LLC
I dealt with Delagrange builders when building a home. I picked out one of their floor plans and had already purchased land. I was preapproved for a loan and needed a barn build with my project. I dealt with their rep, Steve, who refused to give me a propsal for over a week. Herb also did not even show up when schedule to view the acreage we purchased. I found a new builder as each step of the way Steve talked down to me and made me feel i was not wealthy enough to build with them. This was offensive on many levels, mostly because we were pre approved well within our range for their floor plan and has a very large amount set for cash down. Only go to these builders if you want slow, rude service when making the biggest purchase of your life.

Best Roofing Co
We had our roof done by Best Roofing six or so months ago. He gave us a warrenty and told us if we had any problems he would "take care of us." Winter came around and we had even more water damage than before the roof was put on. We had just finished remodeling, new paint and floors and exterior home painted. I am upset because now our new finishes are getting damaged from the leaks. We have even more water damage than before we had a new roof put on. We have contacted him numerous times and he doesn't get back to us, or his wife assures my husband and I he will call us back. It is now April and he has yet to even respond for three weeks almost a month. I am highly unsatisfied with his communication, and not returning our phone calls. Hopefully this review will help him get around to fixing his warrenty roof and contacting his customers back.

Codys Roofing
I would highly recommend Cody's Roofing. We recently hire them to re-roof our house and matching out building. The owner met with me personally to give me an estimate. The estimate was EXTREMELY detailed in describing what would be done and with what materials. The job was started on time and finished early. There was absolutely no mess. I cannot be more pleased with recommending Cody's Roofing.
Tips & Advices
The most common types of roofing material are:
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Metal roofing
  • Slate shingles
  • Concrete roofing
Metal roofing material and algae-resistant asphalt shingles are the appropriate roofing material for rainy climates.
Houses located in  areas which are prone to wildfires, should avoid the use of flammable roofing materials such as wood shingles.
Not only should you ask to get in contact with past clients, it is also recommended that  homeowners visit projects currently underway to see how the contractor or company actually performs during a job. You can also go online and check out other customer reviews.
Reputable roofers do offer a warranty against poor workmanship. Additionally, the material used often carries a warranty from the manufacturer against defects (assuming proper installation). It is the homeowner’s responsibility to check on the availability of all such warranties before any work is performed.
