East Side Automotive Service Center
Awesome & honest guys to work with. They went out of their way to assist me with problems with my rear suspension on my 03 Taurus, even after I broke a heavy duty bolt off in the process of trying to perform the service myself! They never "scolded" me on attempting the repair. They removed the broken bolt & replaced it at no additional charge. I recommended them to my daughter, who also had rear suspension problems (although different than mine). They performed the service at a cost less than other quotes from previous shops. They suggested that the other side of the suspension should be serviced in the future, but said it was satisfactory for now. Yes, I highly recommend them!

Roberts Auto Center
Had an electrical problem that no other auto center was able to properly diagnose. Robert's technicians had the entire system on our Avalanche tested within 2 hrs, replaced the parts and also ended up putting the highest quality, best low mileage used replacement tires in Fort Wayne (set of 4 for under $175) mounted. They cut the electrical service bill by over 50% compared to the other places and properly diagnosed the problem (without replacing the $1200 motherboard the "certified" service techs improperly diagnosed at the "big name" auto centers)

Gerber Collision
Edited my original review based on my experience with the Fort Wayne office. The national call center is extremely unhelpful and caused more issues than solutions. The Fort Wayne office stepped up and matched a quote provided by the national call center that was cancelled the day of my scheduled service because they, "did not serve in my area." Very helpful at the FW office.UPDATE: Gerber's glass supplier scheduled and serviced my vehicle promptly and with great attention to detail. Amazing work! Thank you to the FW office for making things right!

Hunt Performance
I have come to this shop ever since I first began driving. I've had everything possible done to my cars ( and i do mean mutiple makes and models). The shop is always professsional and courteous. I can trust them to fix whatever issue they are working on and never more than what is needed. It is always done right. I am currently saving the money to have a new engine dropped into my family vehicle. I have two children and one on the way, I could never trust anyone else with my family needs the way I can the men at this shop!

East Side Automotive Service Center
I was very happy with my experience and I would suggest East Side Automotive Center to anyone. I took my car there to have both front lower ball joints replaced. The shop was nice enough to use my supplied parts (Since they were high quality and up to OEM spec) I had the car back by the end of the day for a fraction of what other local shops where charging. Jon and Jeff know their cars and they know how to offer extremely well done work at a price that is often lower than competitors. Give them a try!

Mechanix Unlimited Inc
I took my car to mechanix unlimited out of pure convenience at first, but once was all it took to convince me that they are the best option around. Their level of honesty, professionalism. Quality of work, and personality is hard to find. Now I know a lot of mechanics have some of those good qualities, but if you're looking for one that has all... then Mechanix unlimited is the obvious choice. I will always choose them first and I recommend them to anyone that cares about their car, wallet or morals.

Omega Automotive Group
Wow! I've used several detailers in the past few years but these guys have set a new height for the bar, and a new standard of Excellence. In fact Tim and Mike over here where the guys that actually had hands on my Yukon Denali are "off the charts, 5-Star employees", and the car actually looks better than it did when it rolled off the factory line, and my SUV is Black, a notoriously hard color to keep clean and even harder to detail.

We have been to Hometown several times with different vehicles & different problems over the past few years. John has always been sooooo nice and willing to work with us on different things. They have always done a great job & have never had any issues. Thier prices are low compared to everyone else. I would recommend them to anyone!

I suspect we're not getting all the details from "Brentaugustus." This place is my go-to place for honest, low prices. Carl will take care of you for minimum cost or he will tell you where to go for even less. I have purchased 3 cars here and fixed countless. Thank you Mechanix Unlimited!

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
