Asian Automotive Inc
I just had to have some major work done on my 2005 Honda Accord. As a single woman, I'm a bit leery of mechanics, but Monroe treated me very well. Not only did he fix my car (it's now running great), but he also went out of his way to find my valet key, clean the interior and put my lug nut locks to use so my wheels wouldn't get stolen. He was very gracious and understanding of my situation and completed the work quickly and efficiently. I'd have to say that I was very anxious about the entire situation before I took my car in as I'd never had any automotive work done by them. I usually take it to the Honda dealership. By the time I left, I was greatly relieved and also saved several hundred dollars. I will refer all my friends to this business as I know they'll get a fair shake and the work will be completed correctly. They also guarantee their work so if I have any future problems with what they fixed, I won't have to worry about it. If you're a single woman and you go into a mechanic's shop by yourself, you know that many will take advantage of this situation, You won't have to worry about this with the guys at Asian Automotive. I was greatly impressed and am very happy with the outcome of their work.Don't let the outside of this business fool you. It's full of cars in various states of repair and is not a fancy garage. In fact, some of the cars are worked on just as they sit - in the yard. Be careful what you brush up against as you may get your clothes stained! But that's OK. Good mechanics seem to be that way. They're more concerned with the work than they are with the aesthetics of the place. If you need a good mechanic that's fair and efficient, this is the place for you!

Baier's Auto Time Inc.
I brought my 04 Acura TL to Baiers on a visit to ft walton from gulfport andthey were great. The bearing was bad and I was scared to drive it back so Ifound them through google. After I dropped my car off they called me to letme know there was something else needing to be fixed and they would do itfree of labor charge since they already had to jack my car up. All of thiswas completed in 3 hours, on time, and there weren't a bunch of cars infront of me. When I came to get my car they had also fixed my wipers, checkengine light, checked my oil, and diagnosed a wobble in my wheel. The staffwas very friendly, helpful, every repair they did was covered under awarranty, and I am so sad that they are here and not in Gulfport because mygo to car repair place isn't half as awesome as Baiers. I would give them 5out of 5 stars. -Jennifer Putnam

Glenroy Auto Inc. Volvo Nissan, and Mercedes Benz Service Repair
My 2001 V70 broke down 3 miles short of our beach house on the first day of our vacation. I found Glenroy online and was glad to see a good review from only 1 week earlier. Glenroy exceeded my every expectation! I had my car towed to him first thing Monday morning and he had my car ready at lunch on Tuesday. This was a major repair as the front right CV joint had completely separated from the wheel hub. Glenroy showed me the old parts where the previous owner had not used genuine Volvo parts. The price was very reasonable and he gave me a 1 year guarantee on the parts and labor. I have owned Volvos for over 15 years and I will definitely go back to Glenroy if I ever need auto work done in this area.

Gerber Collision & Glass
I decided to use Gerber upon recommendation of my insurance company; however, I was reluctant to do so. I have used several other local body shops in the past for both personal and fleet vehicles and have always had some level of disappointment and frustration. The communication I received from Gerber far exceeded anyone else I have dealt with in the industry and the work to my vehicle, which was somewhat extensive, was completed very quickly and ahead of schedule. Jeff and the staff were extremely friendly and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend Gerber and will certainly use their services again in the future when the need arises.

Baier's Auto Time Inc.
I recently took my car to Baier’s Auto Time to get both the brakes and the tires replaced. With the number of miles accumulated, I knew I was coming due. Chris verified that my tires not only needed to be replaced, but also that one was downright unsafe. They gave me a quote for exactly what I needed and nothing more: a fair price. The work was done quickly, Brad and Chris took care of me, and my car once again has great traction, quiet ride, and silent/effective braking. I’ll definitely return to Baier’s for future service knowing that they are a shop that I can trust.

They fixed my Volvo XC70 and had me on the road within two hours. Outstanding service and extremely reasonable on price. The most personable and caring people I have ever met in the business. They know their business and don't try to double talk you into doing unnecessary work. I highly recommend Glenroy. With their work ethic, fairness, and customer service, people should be flocking to their door! I only wish that I lived closer so they could always be my auto shop. Sadly, I live 345 miles away.

Midas Auto Service & Tires
On my way to Florida my van started leaking transmission fluid. I had to stop every 100 miles to put fluid in it, I finally made it to Florida. Aj was down there a month before me and met Bob (the owner). He called Bob and explained my situation and Bob had me drop off the van so they could fix it. These guys were so friendly and nice they not only fixed my van but brought it to me. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. Thank You Bob.

Murtek Automotive Services
My Nissan Optima just shut off. It wouldn't start back up. I was at a Destin Condo and found Pat on the Web. It was late 8:00 pm. Pat answered the phone and took care of me. Who else would even answer. I feel very lucky I found him. He had a tow truck there right away, fixed my car and saved my vacation.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
