Wilcox Transmission
I've used Wilcox Transmission for the past 15 years. I have attempted to use 2 other transmission places and both times ended up taking my cars to Wilcox to be fixed the right way. They not only honor their warranty, they go above and beyond to make me feel like I am top priority. They are always polite and up front. I've never been cheated or scammed by them. ONLY place around I trust my cars with (my kids lives depend on the dependability/safety of my car...)

Wilcox Transmission is THE place to take your vehicle if you have transmission issues. They are very informative and helpful. If you want good quality work, like I got, then trust your vehicle here. I will definitely use them again and will tell everyone I know they can count on them too!

Johnny's Transmission Service
busted the shell for my key much worse than already was. Missing pieces and not usable now! The guy said he dropped it, but failed to tell me it wouldn't work now. They didn't even attempt to put it back together right and the spring was missing. The lady in the office went out and found that and was kind enough to bring me a zip lock bag for the pieces! Would I really trust them now with my repairing my car? ummm NO!

Curly's Trim Shop
Took my 2000 Mustang convertible to have new top put on. Owner had me to raise, and lower top to show that everything worked. Top would do what it's supposed to do, but wouldn't even come close to latching after they got through with it. Top wasn't bolted on right, and some of them were left off of it. Top that II bought was an OEM size, and needed no alterations, but looks like it's been cut on.Tried to tell me that top needed to be aligned, and would cost me $75 an hour for them to fix it.Do Not take anything to these crooks. I've filed a complaint against them with consumer affairs. I don't know who it is giving these people a 5 star rating, but must be related.

Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
