The Cat Hospital of Ft Myers PA
I had just moved down to Fort Myers with my cat and he started sneezing a lot and didn't seem as active. I often drove past the Cat Hospital, so I decided it would be a convenient place to try.I called to make an appointment and the lady on the phone was very nice and friendly. When I took my cat in for his appointment, the vet was extremely nice and treated my cat (my little Otis) like a person. It was refreshing to find a vet that cares as much about Otis's well-being, as I do. The vet also took his time explaining to me all of the possibilities of problems, and the proper way to care for my cat at home. He did not rush, and answered all of my questions in great detail. By the time my appointment was over, I was so impressed with the kindness and service I had received that I complimented them before I left.Since my first appointment, I have been back to the Cat Hospital several times (Otis is very old) and got to know the vet and some of the staff better. My opinion of the Cat Hospital has only improved. They are always professional, and very caring.Once I had to house my cat there for over a week while I was gone on vacation, and I was confident it was the best possible place he could be. I left hi with personal items and they said I could call every day if I wanted (or multiple times a day!) They continued to care for Otis and provide his meds - by the time I picked Otis up, he looked in better health and he had a special nickname "Otis Podis".This place is by far, the best place you could take your fur baby.

Associates in Veterinary Medicine & Surgery
This is my experience with Dr. Scott. On 5/19/2017, Dr. Scott vaccinated my 11 month old indoor cat without my verbal or informed consent, and did it on the same day as a tail amputation. He, nor any of his staff members discussed the vaccine, or the risks or asked me about my cat's vaccination history. I didn't even know that my cat had the vaccine until I came to pick her up and they started handing me a rabies certificate, licensing fees and the bill where they charged me for it! No information on the risks or side effects. It turns out that he, in fact, administered the 3 year vaccine against protocol, meaning that cats are required to have the 1 year vaccine before the 3 year. My cat did not have her 1 year yet! When I spoke to Dr. Scott, he said "I'm doing you a favor" and showed no concern or understanding of why I might be upset. This review will hopefully educate pet owners to be proactive about vaccines. Speak up for your animals! Do your research, and if you go to a new Vet, ask them about their vaccine policy. Stay away from Vets who are pushy and careless with vaccines! It is NEGLIGENT and UNETHICAL for a vet to perform any unauthorized procedure on an animal without the Pet Owner signing an INFORMED CONSENT, and the Pet Owner being explained the vaccine risks and side effects BEFORE the vaccine is administered. and, by the way, signing a form to the agreement of the surgery is not the same thing as a Pet Owner being made aware in WRITING and agreeing to in WRITING that their pet be vaccinated.

South Trail Animal Hospital
If you want to be taken advantage of, then this practice fits the criteria. A dental cleaning for my 13 year old toy poodle was estimated to be a high of 530$ I understand that was without extractions. Bye the way, his teeth were cleaned here in 2013 , and because I scheduled2 weeks past the 30 day time frame (during Christmas) they refused the 10 percent discount that was quoted. About 50$ on a 500$ bill(max quote). Left practice after taking my dogs to Dr Demonarco( who I like) after many years because of their horrible customer service. Returned for my 13 year old poodles teeth cleaning because I trust Dr DeMonarco, given a quote of a high of 530$ That became 983$ upon pick up. I understand he had teeth pulled, but once again with a bill of close to$1000 they said the 10 percent discount would be 32$( not off total bill)so for a difference of about60$, they refused to budge, said they would only release dog to us WITHOUT his antibiotic and pain medicine if we wanted the 10 percent discount! Guess his well being was not so important to them as that extra60$ on the bill of almost 1000$. They ( the staff and Dr Demonarco) said they have to do what the office manager Cindy says, no exceptions! This place is more interested in screwing the customer and making the most money possible. Don't go there unless you want to be scammed!

The Cat Hospital of Ft Myers PA
The Best! Dr. Gatof and his staff are far above the rest! We were referred to him by our last vet, on several occasions, when our pet's issue could not be resolved. It became clear very quickly that this doctor was highly respected by his peers for his level of intelligence and experience. We made the switch permanently to this office and never looked back! Everything Dr. Gatof recommends is what he would do for his own cat and that's exactly what I want for my animals. I don't want a vet who puts a band-aid on a dam. He treats our pets like their his own. After every visit, on the following day, we get a follow-up call to see how our cat is doing. Even if they just go in for something simple. Who does that??? No one! If I have a question, I call and their always happy to help. It's a specialty practice and that's exactly how they make you feel. My cats have seen nearly every vet in this town and I have never found a practice ran with more professionalism, compassion or care. Their fees seem inline with other practices and in some cases, in my opinion, their less. You get what you pay for and I’d never compromise my animals care for some “discount” operation.

Affordable Animal Care Clinic
I am throroughly confused by this place. I found a small, dirty dog wandering in the street, & I was afraid it would get hit by a car. I took it to this vet because they were closest, to see if they would check for a microchip & contact the owner. They said it had an unregistered microchip. They didnt want it to go to the the animal shelter, and asked me to take him. I did. 2 days later they started calling repeatedly & leaving messages that I need to return the dog to them because i'm not the registered owner. I took the dog back the same afternoon and in the hour I was gone to drive him there, there were 6 more messages from them on my voicemail. WHAT THE F IS GOING ON IN THEIR OFFICE!! SERIOUSLY, if I wanted to steal the damn dog I wouldnt have involved them in the first place. WHAT NERVE!! I was so impressed with their compassion the first day, trying to spare the dog from going to the animal shelter & they come in and act like they're saving it from ME.

Dr.Mogavero and his staff have done an outstanding job of caring for our golden retriever, Ben, who has severe allergy related health issues. After receiving their care, Ben is now as healthy as he has ever been. Dr. Mogavero prescribed a program and explained it in detail and follows Ben's progress with follow up appointments. The day after every appointment, we receive a call to check in on Ben's progress and inquire as to whether or not we have any questions. We even receive a call after Ben has been groomed to insure that we are (Ben is) pleased with the service. Add to that a neat, clean facility, and a friendly relaxed atmosphere where you are greeted by name.

McGregor Boulevard Veterinary Clinic
This is a vet that cares about your baby(pet). They have respect for the people that bring there pets and are not hardend and dry due to some tuff times with there jobs. They made us comfortable as well as our baby. I am so glad that my baby has a fighting chance due to the people there that LOVE and really do LOVE animals. Harley is sleeping good and we will see you on Monday for our follow up. I have been to 2 other vets that same day and only you were able to see that she was worth more than a glance. Steph, Harley and myself are forever gratefull and we thank you for our time we have together because of you.

We have been coming to Tails A Waggin since 1992 and your office has ALWAYS provided superior care to every one of our dogs. From before we arrive until even after we have left, you make the experience seamless and as easy as possible, always providing excellent information, instruction, and oversight to whatever the case at hand is. The doctors and staff treat our dogs like theirs, and each and every one makes us feel comfortable and confident in the decisions we make and the care they receive. Thank you for always going that extra mile for the animals you see, and their families.

McGregor Boulevard Veterinary Clinic
The best vet in town! I have used 2 other vet clinics in the past and I will definitely stick with this one. They are in the brand new building, they do not nickel and dime you and they never push products and/or treatments on you. Friendly nice receptionists and the vet genuinly cares about your pet. I took my dog here for teeth clening and for a stitch he needed when I accidently nicked him while grooming. They even trimmed his nails free of charge while at the different vet they would always charge $12. I will not take my dog anywhere else.

Indian Creek Pet Hospital
I have been using Indian Creek Hospital for several years. The staff and Dr. are very professional, friendly and informative. They will answer any questions honestly and not made you feel silly for asking. They call you after visits to ensure tha your animal is doing well. During a storm I could not find my cat and called the office, the Dr. was there and gave me tip to get Tiki out of hidding. The next work day I got a call to see if I found Tiki and id he was O.K. They go above and beyond to make a lasting impression.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
