I've never used a moving company before because I've always relied on friends/friends of friends to help me move. But this time I was moving out very long distance, where my friends couldn't manage to help me out. So I needed to take help from the professionals. However, affordable transfer co turned out to be very tactical. Their men arrived right on time to my apartment and started packing everything inside the apartment. Once they were done packing, they took out the boxes and furniture out to the elevator lobby. Then they systematically used the service elevator to take everything down. Their loading process was very neat and they knew exactly how to do it. All my belongings were delivered on the previously decided date and they were undamaged. They have indeed left a great impression on me about them and I won't hesitate to recommend them.

Movers came on time and they began their work immediately. I felt that they knew what they were up to and they were managing the move very efficiently. They packed, moved and stored all my belongings without a single scratch and they were also quite fast. I was living on the 3nd floor apartment and although we had an elevator, the furniture would not fit in it and had to be moved down from the staircase. The boys were tough and a move that I thought was a very heavy and difficult to execute was just like a piece of cake for them. Finally I got a move that I was looking for. The company’s customer service is excellent; they kept calling me from time to time just to insure I was having no problems and the packers. I came to know about this company by a friend. My friend gave me their number and I called and spoke with Steve who is a sales rep at Affordable moving systems. Steve offered me a very good price and also accommodated my move within their busy schedule. Paper work was done in no time and I have been informed about the entire process. Everything was looking great and in reality they did better than what it looked like. The team of 4 men led by Allan arrived on time with all necessary tools and packing materials and packed the whole house and loaded in under 5 hours! They moved all my belongings safely to San Jose, CA and made sure they beat the deadline. After checking the inventory, I just could tip the movers. I want to thank everyone associated with my move and I promise, from now I will be using only Affordable moving systems.

As I lived in a high-rise apartment block, I had to notify the manager of exactly when I was moving. Then the manager gave me a time slot to use the elevator. When I called Modern Movers to move my stuffs, I notified them of this issue since I would lose the slot if they arrived late. Their crew arrived exactly on time and since it was the first appointment of the day, they were all very charged up. They had a 2-hour window to pack and bring all my stuffs down from my 11th floor apartment. They finished in 1 hour and 45 minutes. My manager said that he has seen many movers but never has he seen such efficient ones. I was even more impressed when they managed to transport all my belongings in perfect condition. These movers managed to complete this move so fast and efficiently. I am totally impressed.

After my previous experience with the professional movers I was kind of afraid to use any moving companies but I had no other options left but to use professional movers. But this time I paid extra attention while choosing the right movers for my 2 bed room move. I spent several hours researching and checking the rankings of the movers and at the end I hired Affordable moving systems. Thank God they did not disappoint me. They actually performed a lot better than what I was looking for. Jeff, Sean, Steven and David were so good that I did not have to move my fingers! They wrapped, boxed and moved each and everything. Completed the move within the allotted time, helped us willingly to store everything, did not ask for any hidden charge and most importantly delivered my belongings without any damage.

Most companies would give you a low quote and keep adding to it in the name of packing materials or boxes or surcharges. They promise a crew that is so capable and you get men with little to no experience at this job. It is still convenient to hire the moving companies so I keep hiring them. For my last move, I hired Affordable Transfer Co expecting more or less the same. However, they really surprised me. They quoted quite low as usual, but no extra costs were added in the final bill. The crew worked very efficiently and it seemed like they were really working fast to save me some bucks. I really appreciate their work. Even when they delivered everything, all my belongings were unharmed. I will definitely hire this company again since they really try to up their game.

I lived in the same damn town for long enough. It was time to move to a new place and make life interesting. I hired Modern movers when a friend recommended them. To be honest, I thought they were a little overpriced. They were fast at the job though which ultimately saved me money. The four movers arrived on time and they were all very efficient. They knew exactly how to approach the job. They packed up all my belongings very fast. They carried big pieces of furniture with ease and maneuvered through narrow hallways of my old house. The delivery was made on time and nothing was broken or damaged. I am very happy with the way they handled everything during the move. I suppose the price is only an honest asking for such efficient service. I will hire them again.

I just can’t deal with stress. So I hired Modern Movers to take on the stress of relocating from Tampa, FL to Augusta, ME. They came, saw and conquered. The crew was so efficient that they finished a job in 3 hours that would have taken me 2 weeks. They arrived on time and inspected everything first. Then they packed and how they packed! They were so inventive and efficient. I must have saved tons of money by hiring fast movers. They carried huge pieces of furniture like they were marshmallows. I was really surprised seeing how skilled and strong these men were. Now let’s talk about the cost. I paid 20 dollars less than the original estimate and they charged me nothing extra for the packing materials. Give me one reason why I should complain about them.

I can see many people leaving their comments on Affordable moving systems The most amazing thing about them to me is they know how to handle situations and how to keep their clients happy. I thought of hiring a good moving company and got to know about these people and I directly showed up at their office. I was a bit concerned about the fees they were going to charge. So I talked to their sales rep Suzie and she gave me enough reasons to hire them. She was very confident and polite at the same time. They showed up earlier than the given time which kind of surprised me. Anyways, Allan and the other guys worked their very hard to make things perfect. What they did was amazing and I definitely am going to hire them for all my moves next time!

I called affordable moving systems for an estimate on my move from FL to NJ. We decided to go for an on-site estimate and fill up the inventory list myself, online. I really appreciated the offer and the fact that I was able to contact my rep Jim anytime I had a question. I also liked the detailed information that he put into all the paperwork. We ended up with an estimate that was higher than what we were quoted by another moving company. Out of the five companies we looked at it was down to affordable moving systems, and we are glad we did because the move went well, no bumps or unforeseen issues or fees. The crew that we got was excellent! I will be recommending them to some family members and friends that will be moving in the future.

Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
