Champion Dog Training
TESTIMONY @ the BEST Dog Trainer in South Florida! (Broward County)This is an un-bias testimony about a dog trainer I found on Craigslist a little over a month ago & I want to recommend him to EVERYONE!!! I have NEVER met him before this & have no connection with him in any way, but he is so incredible, I want to tell the world, so more dogs like mine, can have a chance at being saved & rehabilitated! Anyone who needs a dog trainer, NEEDS to call this man! He TRULY IS incredible! MY STORY: I adopted & saved a 90 lb. dog (Belgian Malinois mix I think) from euthansia at the Miami Dade Animal Services shelter. She is sweet & so loving with us but she hates other dogs & people. She wants to KILL other dogs & although she's never bitten a person, she has the potential to seriously harm someone. I couldn't even take her out for a walk b/c as soon as she would see someone walking another dog, she would go into attack mode & lunge & pull to get at the other dog. I love this dog, she's stolen my heart forever.... she sleeps in my bed every night & she's incredible with my teenager & we'll NEVER let her go but she needed serious training. I TRIED to rehabilitate her myself, I read books, watched videos, researched dog training on the internet, talked to dog experts of message forums, ect. & NOTHING WORKED!!! To be honest, she was SO BAD that I thought it was hopeless. I kept her home 24/7 & I really was about to give up hope that she could ever be rehabilitated & live a normal life until I found Mike Clark & decided to give him a try & see if he could help me rehabiliate her. The first session with Mike, changed my dog. It was incredible! I could NOT believe the MIRACLE he preformed in one hour! He IS another Cesar Milan! He KNOWS dogs! I can't explain it any other way. He stopped her leash pulling, he trained her to heel & sit & walk by another dog and person without lunging or trying to attack in ONE FREAKING SESSION! THAT'S how good he is! We're still working on her training & she's a different dog now. Thanks to Mike, I can now walk her every night & she sits & heels on command & no longer pulls me down the street. My shoulder isn't ripped out of it's socket anymore. Life is good for us & for her & I have this amazing guy to thank for it. So to anyone out there who needs a new dog evaluated or obedience training or if you have aggressive dogs or dogs that don't get along with other dogs or people, ANY dog issues at all, call Mike ASAP! He CAN & WILL help you! He is absolutely AMAZING & the REAL deal! He's a retired policeman where he was a police dog trainer for 35 years. He has his own business called "Champion Dog Training" @ 954 748-5423 www.championdogtraining.com & you can find his ad on here too.

Champion Dog Training
My Border Collie, Scotty and I just completed our first 5 week course of Obedience training with Mike of Champion Dog Training. Scotty is a 2 yr old rescue who was very sweet with zero “manners”. I needed quick, focused obedience training in a hurry and knew Petsmart was not going to cut it. After much online research, I found Champion Dog Training and got in touch with Mike. From our first lesson, we left with results. I left with tools and a new understanding of my dog (and a firmer voice). At the end of 5 weeks, not only does he listen up, but heels, sits, stands, stays, downs, etc like a soldier. We still have plenty to learn and continue to practice daily what Mike has taught us. We will begin our 2nd Obedience course with Mike in a couple of weeks. He offers 5 week courses for different levels of obedience training which you as the handler participate in or will board and train your dog for 2 weeks straight and you come pick up your “new” dog. Either way you will get results and your dog will have the manners and obedience you’d always hoped for. Mike is a kind, patient, experienced, professional dog trainer that delivers results. He is a retired BSO police officer and K9 trainer. I struck gold with Mike at Champion Dog Training and you can too. I don’t believe anyone has ever trained with Mike and was disappointed. As you can see, there are no mixed reviews; and for good reason.

The Barkers Pet Center
I drive all the way from Lighthouse point just to drop my dogs off for baths & spas, groomings, daycare and boarding. I have a yorkie and Labrador retriever who love to play all day in the indoor/out door play areas. They come home so happy and exercised from playing all day. Since The Barkers Pet Center has opened I have been coming here for boarding and all the staff is really friendly. The owners Vaida and Shai have a passion for dogs and they are the best in the businesses. They really care about their customers. Their loving and caring staff gives me followup calls to see how my pets are doing. Paula and Mario are absolutely the most professional pet groomers I have found. The both provide full scissor cuts and the grooming is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. The boarding facilities' are also superb. The overall cleanliness and the special personalized care they give to each pet is out of this world. The owner Vaida is always there to answer any questions you may have about your pets special diet needs. I have never seen such friendly staff. There's nothing standard about Barkers.

The Barkers Pet Center
This place is one of the best dog kennels in Florida. I switched from Central Bark to private dog walker and then after my research and friend references I tried Barkers place. I had great experience boarding my dogs and the last day they got groomed. Let me tell you- they did 10 times better job than my mobile groomer. From this point on Barkers is my groomers. One thing I didn't like was when I was checking in I was approached by this lady Carla who wanted to push her training on me. My dogs just need to walk nicer on the leash that's all. They are great dogs. She was pushy and even vulgar. The way she looked and talked to me made me think she is on something. No wonder she couldn't work there and got fired. I'll be back for grooming sooner than you think. You guys do a great job overall and I'm glad I found you.

The Barkers Pet Center
The Barkers Pet Resort is an excellent choice for holistic and raw pet food. They carry a huge selection of pet supplies and the front desk staff is very knowledgable and willing to help with questions concerning my pets diets since they are both picky eaters. They dog groomers, Mario and Paula, are beyond professionals and have been creating fabulous cuts on both of my yorkies for 2 years. There grooming salon is cage-less and has a viewing window which I love. I can't help but also mention the doggie daycare play areas are huge and my little guys come home exercised and happy every time. The Barkers even has a outdoor doggie pool for the ones that like to swim. The boarding rates The facility is clean, well-maintained, and organized. II would recommend the Barkers Pet ResortCentral to anyone, anytime.

Mario's Pet Grooming & Boutique
GORGEOUS STANDARD POODLE CUTS!!!I have been taking my Standard Poodle to Mario since he opened and LOVE the cuts he gives my dog Baci. I am very particular about how my standards hair is cut, and every time Mario cuts her I am absolutely thrilled - he makes her look so cute and beautiful - like a show dog! He really knows how to cut poodles, and asks many questions about how you would like the cut. He wants the dog to look her best. My dog loves to see Mario, he is so great with the dogs! There are no cages so the dogs get to hang out and make new friends. My dog is always happy and gorgeous when I pick her up from Mario's. I would recommend Mario to any of my friends, and especially anyone who has a standard poodle!!

The Barkers Pet Center
I am Barkers customer for over a year and can't say enough nice things about them. I referred all my friends, neighbors and co-workers to the Barkers. I appreciate everything they do for me. I travel a lot and my schedule at work is crazy, so like always I depend on Barkers. This is the only place that is open 8PM to pick up your dog from day care or even grooming. Before I found Barkers I couldn’t take any weekend jobs because of my dog. If I leave him home alone he would tear the house apart. I’m really happy that I can leave my dog there even on the weekends and pick him up all happy and tired. And all you Barkers staff - you are amazing. Thank you for everything and see you tomorrow.

Champion Dog Training
BEST Dog Trainer in South Florida! Mike Clark is most professional and knowledgeable trainer in South Florida. He was very helpful teaching me and my German Shepherd pup Rambo the basic on leash obedience training. Ive seen a great improvement in his behavior and leash manners. He walks perfectly next to me when we go for our daily walks, he sits & lays down on command, which is a total improvement from weeks before when he pulled me around on the leash and did not follow any commands. I highly recommend Mike at Champion Dog Training to anyone who needs any type of dog training. Thanks Mike

The Barkers Pet Center
We absolutely LOVE Barkers!! I have 3 Pitbulls, they all have been trained at Barkers, go to daycare here and LOVE IT!! The staff and owner are amazing!! Barkers is the best thing around for your pet. I wouldn't bring my dog to any other center. All 3 of my dogs get super excited knowing they get to go to school and swim and play at Barkers. There are not enough words to say how awesome the place is. If you have never been, you must visit with your pet!! The entire staff is GREAT!!!

Champion Dog Training
We took our 3 month old shepherd mix to Mike and are extremely satisfied with the results. Mike is very knowledgeable, thorough and patient. We thought our puppy was too young for training but now at 4 months she sits, heels, stays and lays down on command. It has made the puppy experience a whole lot easier and pleasurable. Our well behaved dog is the envy of everyone at the dog park and our dog owning neighbors .Can't wait to go back for advanced classes!!!!!!
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
