YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

This gym doesn't even deserve one star. AS A PREGNANT WOMAN, YESTERDAY I GOT HUMILIATED BY A PERSONAL TRAINER, MORE INTERESTED IN GETTING MONEY OUT OF ME, THAN IN MY BABY AND ME. Yesterday I had a "free session" with this personal trainer. This actually turned out to be a free brainwash session to force me to sign up for personal training sessions. Basically I sat with him and for 45 minutes, he was telling me that they will create for me a workout plan and nutrition plan, bla bla bla...what was shocking is that he was talking to me as I wasn't pregnant, that the goal would be to decrease my bodyfat of 15%, for me to have visible abs, and that I had to build a strong core etc etc...but isn't it dangerous for my baby to work on my core while I'm pregnant?! I told him that I do not have money to sign up for personal training sessions, because obviously I am going to have a baby so I have other expenses. And that I signed up for this free personal training session, just because I thought that we will workout and he would be able to show me how can I workout being pregnant. After I told him this, he got very upset. He told me that if I don't start with fitness now, that I will never start. He kept on telling me: "Are you sure you are going to be consistent with the gym? You have to be consistent and come". Well, I told him that when you're pregnant, you can't predict too much because one day you might be good, another day you might feel horrible. I felt pressured, humiliated, I felt like he was looking down on me. He then he started to give me excuses "Are you sure you want to workout? I see you're that you're hesitating". I was not, he just didn't want to workout with me because he knew I won't sign up. He finally had grace on me and decided to train me....15 minutes later he stopped the session after I told him I was light headed (even though I told him it was normal, that it's just that I'm tired all the time). Fitness is my passion and before I got pregnant, I trained consistently for a year and a half. I just wanted some advice because having a baby in me, I don't know so much how to train anymore. The trainer was not competent, he didn't know what he was doing and saying, and didn't care about me or the baby. He was just obsessed with how much money he can get out of me. Oh and cherry on the cake, at the end, he told me with an attitude: YOU SHOULDN'T TRAIN DURING THIS PERIOD. Oh yeah??? So why even my doctor told me, it was excellent for me and my baby to train?? This club doesn't care about people. I don't like working out there. Nobody is friendly, or really care about you. You feel transparent sometimes. I will sign up to Crunch Fitness in a week or 2, I am waiting for them to open their new location in Parkland. I heard many good reviews about Crunch and about the way they treat their clients.

I was a member of Energy and it closed down with no notice, so when I found out Golds took over the memberships, I tried it out and have been ever since. Before this I was at Crunch and Crunch went bankrupt and closed down 2 or 3 clubs. My boyfriend was a member of Idol and they went out of business overnight. Gold's environment is just more comfortable than the want to be spas that have tried to populate hotels and condos. South Beach Golds is where I workout and love it. I recommend Gold's, their equipment expertise is better and they have designed areas for women and really custom machines that I never had at other clubs.
799 Galiano St
This is a good facility with good machines and free weights, but the last bastion of serious male\r chauvinism. If you are a woman looking to be taken seriously, look elsewhere. Women are relegated\r to the cardio section of the room and are expected to be quiet and make no waves. The men are\r burly, raucous, and uncooperative when a woman tries to use the machines. Management expressed\r dissatisfaction with female clients, calling them ""nuisances"" and ""difficult"". When I complained that\r the machines were stacked to the top with heavy weights and no one in the staff was willing to remove them, the manager just offered a refund and seemed glad to get me out of there. Management changes hands often in this location. Wonder why?
