Hardy Park Bistro
Having recently purchased a condominium on the New River and Las Olas in downtown Fort Lauderdale, I have taken a tour of the neighborhood and its surrounding restaurants. Being familiar with Hardy Park, I was not aware of the Hardy Park Bistro until I had passed the place several times. From the street, it appeared to be quite plain. On a rainy night recently, my daughter Kate and I were driving through the neighborhood when she suggested stopping for something to eat. I tried explaining that the menu served at Hardy Park Bistro would probably not be to her liking. Kate retorted that she had Yelp'd the place and that it had good reviews.Upon crossing the street from a parking meter, we were immediately met by our server. Sarah questioned whether we wanted to be seated inside or out. Although it was still raining a bit, Kate and I opted to sit outside and watch the weightlifters at the gym next door. Kate commented that some of the women lifted as much as the men.Sarah took our order - the $13.50 Octopus Salad for me and the $5.00 French Fries for Kate. While waiting for dinner, my eight-year old questioned the menu. Kate wanted to know why there were so few "kid friendly" items. Sarah explained that the menu changed weekly and that you could always find something on it to eat. Kate responded with a "yes" - French Fries.A few moments later, a gentleman came out and served Kate and I with Arancini, which is - essentially - stuffed rice balls that are coated with breadcrumbs and fried. We shared them while awaiting our dinner. Later that evening, I Googled the name to learn exactly what was in them.About ten minutes later, Kate and I were served dinner. French Fries are not really hard to describe, so I won't bore you with the details. As for the Octopus Salad, it contained grilled octopus with arugula, roasted tomatoes, garlic and eggplant. I don't remember the type of dressing but I had no complaint.Delicious food in an unobtrusive urban bistro is a rare find in a city like Fort Lauderdale. Not kid friendly from the menu perspective but definitely worth a shot if you are dining with your spouse or on a date. No bar - beer and wine only. Our server Sarah did a great job and provided excellent service. I will definitely dine at the Hardy Park Bistro again. The next time I will try the Braised Short Ribs with Carrot Puree, Black Beans and Broccolini.../s/ William E. Lewis Jr., Davie, Fort Lauderdale and Vero Beach, Florida

Foley Roger P Attorney
Roger Foley has been my lawyer for seven years and has defended me on numerous occasions. I was first introduced to Roger as a juvenile with a serious felony charge of Second Degree Arson. Granted I wasn’t the model teenager, I still didn’t deserve to be with such outrages felony charges. After meeting with Roger he gave me the raw reality of the situation and I knew exactly where I stood, and the direction we were going to take in defending my case. After this case was settled a couple years passed and I ended up on the wrong side of the law with another felony charge of Grand Theft and Criminal Mischief over a thousand dollars. I wasn’t some outrages troublemaker out to find trouble; I was just a kid that didn’t have the best of luck. Thankfully I had Roger and he was able to understand my situation and defend me appropriately and ended up not having to do a day in jail or a juvenile facility. My misfortune ended up piling over to my adult years and I most recently was charged with the Felonies of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Battery. I was obviously wrongly charged of these crimes, but I was facing 20 yrs in prison. I thank god I had Roger Foley as my lawyer who believed in me and fought for me with all his power. He was able to get both charges dismissed and I am free. Roger was there through all my teenage years and early adulthood keeping me out of jail because he believed that I was a better person. He has represented me on major high profile felony cases to petty misdemeanors and has never stopped fighting for justice. Roger Foley is one of the top lawyers in South Florida.

The Law Offices of Robert David Malove
Probably no one likes to deal with criminal legal issues, but I felt at ease being referred to Robert David Malove by a friend of mine at the gym. Going to Court alone could be risky, I wanted the best outcome for myself. The Attorney's office was very comfortable and clean, and once meeting him in person I was immediately impressed, he was on time and receptive. Mr. Malove was dressed in a fine suit and looks very professional and gave me a strong handshake. He knows the Florida Laws. I wasn't sure who to use but once I arrived at the office and met him, I had no doubt that he could help me with my legal issues. Communication between me and his office was excellent. Both through immediate emails and text messages. They also have a private client portal on-line so you can sign in and see all your documents once they are posted for you. Mr. Malove's staff was also superb, returning phone calls and answering emails very quickly. Because of his professionalism and decades relationship with the Court, my results were very favorable and I am indebted to Robert David Malove for straightening out my problem. His fee was very fair and totally worth the money. Do not hesitate to contact attorney Robert David Malove in Ft. Lauderdale for your legal problems or concerns, I highly recommend him. When you need legal services this is your man.

Ron L. Baum P.A.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Sometimes you get lucky enough to meet a REAL Attorney that cares about his clients, engages them very professionally, follows up (even on Sundays, holidays, and the middle of the night, if needed). Attorney Baum is extremely ethical and makes you feel like you are his only client. It is not very often in life that we meet professional, educated people that are unpretentious. Ron Baum is an exemplary person. He is very easy to talk with, smart, has a good dry sense of humor, and is very emotionally there for his clients in every way imaginable. If he is your Defense Attorney the likelihood of winning your case is high; however the likelihood that he will take care of you; ease your mind and keep pushing hard for you is even higher. He seems to put all his heart and soul into every case. The Criminal Justice system is horrible as we know it, however after using Attorney Baum and getting to know him, your impression is more than apt to change. I have now recommended him to quite a few people and ALL of them were extremely grateful!

ROK BRGR burger bar + gastropub
Price is towards the high side, but the quality of ingredents, quantity of food along with a great selection of signature burgers you get more than what you pay for! They also have something that I've never seen or had anywhere else, Lobster Corndogs! These are a must have if its your first time or 100th time visiting. Not into sea food, then your in luck because their wings are also amongst the best out there, I recommend spicy/bbq mix. As for their bar, you will be impressed with their beer selection. From local IPA's to a seasonal import on tap, all the best liquiors, and a quality wine list you will definitely find something to wet your whistle and compliment your meal.Honestly, if you are looking for a place to bring friends/family from out of town, a place to hang with your friends, or great date night Rok Brgr is your spot! With a great staff, great atsmosphere, and EXCEPTIONAL food all mixed into the heart of downtown Ft. Lauderdale you can't go wrong!

Gabriela Novo Attorney at Law
It ain't easy in Hollywood, FL. Cop pulled me over for no reason, said I was reckless driving. Charged with possession. My homeboy put me on to Ms. Gabby, said she got him probation when the state wanted to send him to county. She was straight up, told me my only chance was to try and get the evidence thrown out, State was trying send me to the county. So Ms. Gabby filed a motion and argued there was no reckless driving and no reason to search my ride. I was shocked that the judge agreed. State dropped the charges, even the reckless driving! I'm not a bad person. I got two kids and no time for 6 month bid. And I been on probation too it ain't but a setup. Just cuz Obama got reelected don't make it any easier for us out here in the streets. So this is my way to say thank you to Ms. Gabby for looking out and handling my case.

The Law Offices of Lazarus and Lazarus, P.A.
Lazarus and Lazarus is an excellent law firm and went above and beyond to help me understand my case. Mr. Lazarus was able to negotiate on my behalf for a substantial amount of money for my settlement. My case was much more difficult than a car accident due to the other party not having proper insurance. He stuck with me through the five year period and is still working to go after another party because of their insurance was not adequate to cover all my expenses. His law partner was able to lower my medical bills drastically as well. He is not a large corporate giant like Morgan & Morgan so you get the experienced attorney that has previous history of settling large lawsuits and actually knows your case, it is not dumped over to some new college grad. He is by far one of the best, if not the best personal injury attorney in Florida.

Foley Roger P Attorney
He represented my daughter and did an excellent job. He is a former boxer and has that fighter's mentality. He listens to your injustice and figures out what needs to be done. He does not shy away from the fight but embraces your problem and makes it his own. He did not take the easy way out. I know others that used him as well. He is not just about the money he tries to find out what the cop did wrong and advocate for the guy who just does not understand that he / she is being screwed by the the over zealous cop. He wants to take depositions, file motions, and go to trial. He loves the fight and that appears to be his motivation. He worked out a payment plan and everything worked out. Fighting is not cheap but he gave us options and was fair when compared to other lawyers. A plus lawyer that charges B prices.

Ron L. Baum P.A.
My son was in South Florida and got into a situation that brought criminal charges against him. I had no idea what to do. We had never been in this type of situation before. We were scared. I did some research on criminal defense attorneys and came across Mr. Baum's site. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical of hiring an attorney without a personal referral but my skepticism was immediately met with relief after speaking to Mr. Baum and meeting him. Mr. Baum was the criminal lawyer we were looking for. I feel that my son's case was handled aggressively, ethically, and efficiently & personally. I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Baum to anyone in need of legal representation. He's the best!! My son and I could have not been more thrilled at the outcome.

Ron L. Baum P.A.
Ron L Baum was recommended to me from a friend, which had great success with his legal services on more than one occasion. I was very impressed with his accurate, knowledgeable, powerful and caring representation. Ron took my case, which I thought was bleak and successfully turned it around. He not only provided the reassurance, confidence and comfort in such a tense time of uncertainty, but followed through with results exceeding what I'd hoped for! Due to his vast experience he possesses the knowledge and confidence that makes him shine in the court room. I highly recommend Ron L Baum to anyone looking for the complete package in legal representation.
Tips & Advices
When it comes time to choose a lawyer, you should start by searching close to home. If you do have attorneys you are familiar with, ask who they believe would be best for you. After going through personal references - especially from individuals who had similar needs - you should broaden your search through public information resources. You can call your area's attorney referral service or check legal organizations like Martindale-Hubbell. There are other resources available online, such as You can check websites for client reviews and other third-party forms of approval.
If you sign documents and you come across a word you don't recognize, or you need help to navigate important employment or real estate paperwork. Also, during times when personal matters intersect with legal proceedings, you might need to have an advocate to prevent your emotions from getting in the way. If you've been accused of a crime or are in a terrible financial situation, you can find an attorney who will work with what you have available.
When you hire a lawyer, you're agreeing to work with someone over a certain period of time. The more forthcoming the lawyer appears to be with individual needs, the better.
  • You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship.
  • The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
  • You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Ask as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle.
You need to ask about every possible fee that will come up when working with an attorney. You should request a list of all costs in advance so you won't be surprised by additional expenses like overhead. Also determine exactly when you will start being billed. You want to inspect paperwork carefully. If the attorney charges you for his or her experience, you need to make sure he or she will perform tasks personally and not hand it off to an assistant. Find out if the attorney has a flat fee or charges by the hour. Many civil lawyers work on contingency. Make inquiries about how the lawyer plans to provide service for your money and what you can do if you start to feel unsatisfied with his or her performance.
You can ask how many similar cases they have handled and if they have special skills or training that applies specifically to your needs. Lawyers can't mention clients by name, but you should ask for basic details about identical past cases. You should check their office for the appropriate certifications and diplomas. You can also ask how long he or she has practiced law and request information that demonstrates the practice's success. Look for precise details such as percentage of cases settled out of court.
