Sunline Video & Electronics
Robert Mc leod of SUNLINE APPLICANCE REPAIR INC. is VERY unreliable and NASTY. He is contracted by ASSURANT SOLUTION.I called to schedule a repair on my dryer and they sent SUNLINE which is Robert. He showed at my house in tagged clothing and no ID.After banging up my dryer, he proceeds to tell he has to order a part and it will only come in 5 days. That’s u heard of. I had to call him to find out when he’s coming to repair my dryer. He said he’ll be here the next day. I said fine, can you call me in the morning by 9am to let me know when you’re on your way. Never called. At 1039am I called him to find out when is he coming. He proceeds to tell me that his tyre has a puncture and he needs to get it fixed. I was mad because he called to say he was running late. Meanwhile I’m sitting waiting for this guy to show up. VETY NASTY on the phone with his Jamaican accent. I’ve reported him and his company to BBB and other companies that he goes around representing. People BEWARE of this guy and his company. Search the name before letting him in your homes.I will have the cops sitting outside my house when he shows up to repair my dryer. Reason being ASSURANT told be I don’t have a choice.SAD!

Peter Giaccobi has single-handedly kept my '99 XJ8 running like a top for the last 10 years. Has great subcontractors for painting and upholstery work as well. And I have paid 1/3 the cost if Alpine was the only option available. Jag owners, from classic to new, give this fine man your business.

Downtown Auto Service
COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT! Everything they did was a disaster. Took a 2016 Rubicon in for a re-gear and a truss and left with a broken front axle, several missing parts and noises that are proving difficult to diagnose. List of things done wrong:*some steering components were not properly tightened (they were finger tightened only) this could've left me without steering at any moment. *broken front locker*missing brake dust shields*wheel speed sensor brackets missing*wheel speed sensor lines were zip tied to my sway bar end link. Had I not seen it and gone off road it would've been a disaster. As result they got chewed up by the rotors and had to be replaced*steering stabilizer bracket was welded to the front axle in the wrong position. It can no longer be adjusted, must be cut off and a new bracket needs to be purchased and installed.*the alignment was out to a ridiculous degree. There's more but the point is the place is a nightmare. Its a greasy, disorganized shop full of hacks. Stay away!

Dent Master
Less than 1 STAR....WHAT A NIGHTMARE! A door ding turned into cracked paint and worse eyesore. A horrible botched job. Paul should be ashamed and lucky I Don't sue. Do not even consider this as a repair option ever! Lesson off to a reputable body shop.

Frenchy's Auto Repair
I normally never write reviews for a business but I felt for this I must. I am a United States Army veteran and I have never been to a more trustworthy and caring establishment. Every problem that was found with my vehicle was physically shown to me and explained by the husband, and the Mrs. is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. Each time there has been an issue with my van they got it in the shop promptly and have saved my butt from missing work or seeing my daughter on numerous occasions because of their extremely timely service. I couldn't be more grateful to have found a repair shop that feels more like a family, there is no shop more honest or caring in this area of South Florida. I highly recommend their establishment.

Singh Automotive
I originally took my car to Tires plus as it had a bad oil leak. Tires Plus did an oil leak test with dye to determine where the leak was coming from and charged me $42 for the test. I came back 3 days later and they said that my valve cover gasket was leaking and very possibly the oil pan gasket which was an expensive repair. Tires Plus quoted me $175 to repair the valve cover gasket and around $400 to repair the oil pan gasket. Also they told me at Tires Plus that if they break any brittle parts when repairing that I would be responsible for that repair also. A friend then recommended me to Singh's Auto in Ft. Lauderdale area, a place I never heard of. I brought the car to them and they put it up on the lift and checked it at no charge. Immediately after looking under the car the owner Singh said it was an oil pressure sensor that was leaking pretty badly and he pointed it out to me. He said the oil pan gasket was fine and that the Valve cover only had a very minor leak and the major problem was this oil pressure sensor. I had Singhs do the repair and he charged me $125 which was a very fair price. I am very happy with the entire experience at Singhs as to repair a bad oil leak only cost me $125 instead of the $500 repair I was looking at elsewhere.

Pauly Bee's Complete Auto & Truck Repair Inc
I met Pauly for the 1st time yesterday. Pulled in as I needed my AC recharged on my 1999 Toyota Sienna LE. He was polite, didn't waste time, gave a solid price and we agreed on 11 a.m. today. Got there left the car for an hour, just as he said. FREEZING COLD AC NOW :-), he found and resolved a leak, put in dye to make sure it could be detected if it happens again. On top of this I asked him about my Transmission fluid. He checked it and it was a quart low. Put it in a NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. I tried to pay him more and HE REFUSED. Very kind, very professional, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM to anyone. I work with the public for a living and after 50 years, can quickly discern character most of the time. Pauly is a rare jewel and I HAPPILY will trust him for anything I need. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE TODAY. I MUCH APPRECIATE IT, PAULY!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Gulfstream Jaguar
They repaired my jaguar and were very professional and helpful. They do a very thorough repair and are very knowledgeable about the car. Jaguars are expensive to fix but they are way cheaper than taking it to the dealer.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
