(April 25, 2017) Our family's dining experience at Chuck's Steak House on 2428 E. Commercial was all the good things we had heard of this restaurant... and MORE! Among other reasons why we will keep coming back, there's the menu, where patrons will find carefully chosen dishes (plus wines, beers and beverages) to satisfy every palate without having to hand customers a three pound "book." The sides and accompaniments are equally mouth-watering and balanced. The salad bar, while not huge, is fresh, plenty varied, and visually inviting--and the plates are kept cold! Service is pleasant, efficient and friendly; our group of eight was catered to with smiles and a sincere desire to make us feel right at home. And the main courses were served cooked to perfection! One could expect to pay twice as much elsewhere for food this delicious and of this quality. Did I mention the place was comfortable and spotless? Yes, the manager also deserves 5 stars. Chuck's S-H has won us over!!! PP

Last night was our most recent visit to Tropical Acres. All in our party had the "early bird," which consisted of any entree on the menu plus soup, dessert and coffee or tea, thrown in at no additional charge. I chose the prime rib, accompanied by onion soup, salad, baked potato, ice cream roll cake and tea. My husband and the seafood pasta platter with a red sauce, accompanied by onion soup "au gratin" (an up charge of $2.50), Cesar salad…he skipped dessert and tea. Our dinner companions had a seafood with ziti and red sauce, broccoli cheese soup, salad, iced tea and rum cake, and rib steak, salad, onion soup "au gratin", ice cream roll cake and iced tea. The servings were so large, we each took home enough for a good lunch the next day. The total bill came to under $100 for all of this. Best of all, however, was the attentive, friendly, prompt service, provided by a waitress and a helper. We will definitely go back…if only to be served by Donna once again.

Spent a weekend in Ft. Lauderdale and went to Tropical Acres at the recommendation of our hotel. Classic steak and seafood house with excellent service, sublime steaks and fish (really, where can you get escargots as an appetizer anymore?), attention to detail. Not cheap, but certainly in line with other high-end steakhouses. Oh, I should mention that we were there on a Thursday evening and the place was packed...and there were two retirement parties going on in private rooms, too! There was a piano player, who played softly in the background. No, it's not a young crowd (at least it wasn't when we were there), it may not be "hip" or "trendy", but it was well worth the money and we'll definitely go back.

We stayed about a minute away at the Fairfield Inn and it was a terrible rainy day so we didn't want to drive to far for dinner.Went for the Early Bird Dinner and what a value! For the price of the entree you get soup, salad, entree, a side, drink, dessert and sour dough rolls. I had the Tuscan Tbone and it was incredible. Our servers (2) were Tami and Steve. Both were awesome. Very attentive and kept our water and tea glasses full. This is the oldest Steak House in South Florida and its easy to see why they have a great reputation. As far as parking they have Valet, Handicap or you can Self Park. The lot is very big. We will come back here to dine next time in the area.

Every time I visit Florida, about every other year for the past twenty years, I always visit “Tropical Acres” for my favourite dish, PRIME RIB. In looking through other reports on this fine restaurant, I have not seen a single entry about their Prime Rib, which has to be the best in the world. I remember one occasion when I was actually able to cut the meat with my fork. This being said people I have dined with, have never had a bad meal or complaint. It is truly an amazing family restaurant, and lives continually up to its reputation for fine dining. They have an excellent web site which covers all else you might need to know about the restaurant
