Haskins Ruth MD
Dr. Haskins is THE BEST at what she does! She is such a knowledgeable, spunky, energetic, personable OB. She accurately diagnosed my situation, was very empathetic with my situation and gave me my options. She was full of answers to my endless questions. She performed major surgery on me in April and I went into it armed with everything I needed to know to feel comfortable with what to expect both before and after the surgery. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my 'female' health from now on!

Van Den Bogaerde James MD
Dr. Van Den Bogaerde performed 2 arthroscopic knee surgeries on me when he was with Kaiser in Roseville back in the early to mid-2000's. He's an incredible surgeon! I'd let him work on me any time. I was quite disappointed when I eventually needed my knee replaced and found he was no longer there. His fine work kept me from needing that replacement for at least 5 years. Great surgeon and a nice man.

Dr. Joy Liu, DO
I have been seeing Dr Liu since she first opened her practice. It is heart warming the care she gives to her patients and the dedication also. Once I had to have an incision packed just before leaving town and she called me and followed up until I got to Michigan checking on how the medication was working. Very wonderful Dr!

Haskins Ruth MD
This amazing Doctor has taken such great care of my wife this last year. We wish we found her sooner! She is a wealth of knowledge in anything female related! She is an amazing surgeon and her energetic and sparkling personality make appointment with the 'lady doctor' not something to altogether dread!

Dr. Joy Liu, DO
Dr. Joy Liu is the greatest doctor I have ever seen. She is so caring and really spends time with the patients. My 88 years old mom is much happier after every visit with her. I think the world is much much different if every doctor in the country is like her!!

Taylor Cecille G MD
Dr. Taylor is punctual, professional, and has a wonderful and helpful staff. It is difficult to trust someone with your eyes, but she has earned my trust enough for me to be able to recommend my friends and family to her practice. Thank you Dr. Taylor.

Spears, Gregory, MD
Love Dr. Spears. Very nice to have him as our Family Practice Doctor and our Pediatrician. He is great with the kids and I just adore him. He is the only reason we have stayed with Mercy.

Chipps, Bradley E, MD
Dr. Chipps is knowledgable in his field and has written several publications. He does however lack in personality. Very monotone and matter of fact.

Dr. Joanna Hoang Nguyen, MD
Great patient care at this office. The kids and I have been a patient for the past 3 years and am pleased with Dr Nguyen and her staff.
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
