Atlantic Coastal Enterprises
Found them on Angies List, they won the Super service award through Angies list for the past 3 years. I figured I couldn't go wrong!!! Just to be safe I did call 2 other companies but not 1 single company came close to Brian's Knowledge! He definitely take pride in his work, it shows! Lil Mrs. Sara is way better than the other companies that came out. They make a good team. There guys who are certified got to my house early yesterday morning and finished my roof by the end of the day. It looks amazing! Not only did they change the rooten wood an sparay for mold, they took pictures of each step. There is a lot of work under the shingles that has to be done and Atlantic Coastal Enterprises did it! Thanks Sara and Bryan!

G & C Contracting
The owner is personable. He and his crew was on time or called. He stands by his estimates and quotes. I had him do several different tasks (siding repair, painting, install thermostat, replace railings, installed a fence gate and more). They kept the work site clean and explained the scope of work clearly. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my friends. He stands by his work - one thermostat did not seem to work so he returned at no charge,as it turned out the HVAC unit was out of Freon... and was in a safety shut off mode.

We had hired another company to enclose our porch, and then proceeded to skip town with our deposit. Brian and Greg from Atlantic Coastal heard what happened and offered to finish the job for little more than what we would have owed the other company. I just wanted to thank them publicly for making a potential disaster into a very good experience!

After completing several different jobs during our remodel, I was thoroughly impressed with Atlantic Coastal Enterprises. They had the knowledge and ability to manage a timeline and schedule to replace windows, doors, siding, and a roof, all within a small amount of time given. They did not disappoint in any area.

I chose Atlantic Coastal Enterprises over five other companies because they promised high quality work at the lowest price. The result was outstanding work and service and I couldn't be happier. Excellent craftsmanship and work ethic form employees. No complaints at all. I recommend this company to anyone.

E J Stein Construction
I trust Mr Stein, We had a leaky roof and Mr Stein on short notice came out and repair the leak and only charge us the cost of the part. He is a honest contractor. I would only want to use him as our home improvement expert because he does a great job and take care of his customers.

This company installed windows and vinyl siding. They were professional and easy to wor with. The house now seems quieter and seems warmer too. I know we are saving on heating and cooling costs already. There are no funny drafts and I love that I wont have to paint the siding.

Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
