1.Penguin Ed's Bar-B-Que
230 S East Ave
For more than 16 years and counting, Penguin Ed's Bar-B-Que has satisfied and impressed thousands of customers. Over the years, we've received several awards for our barbeque, and we appreciate the recognition. But for us, we judge success by the number of customers who leave satisfied and come back in to eat with us time after time.Part of what makes Ed's great is the slow, hickory-enhanced method for smoking meats. Another part of our recipe is who we are: a family. In fact, we have several employees who have been with us for almost the entire journey. Because we have so many longtime employees, you can rest assured that the high quality of our food will remain unchanged from day to day.As summer approached, we upgraded our operation to a trailer, and it served as our center of operations for three years. That little white trailer with the red lettering had its quirks. For one thing, it was tiny ; two of us could not stand side-by-side at its width. To this day, some of us who toughed it out in the trailer still walk sideways at work, because that's how we learned to avoid spills and near-misses in the trailer. For another, the trailer retained heat all too well. In the summers, we estimate that the inside of the trailer was approximately 100-degrees hotter than the outside temperature, give or take.Somewhere in the midst of all the heat and sweat of the trailer, the Pilgrim of all Penguins, Ed Knight, decided that he was going to create a fleet of emperor penguins out of paper-m ch . Whether it was too much heat or too much Discovery Channel, we'll never know. We do know that the penguin thing took off in a way none of us could have ever expected.Once Ed started his fleet, he would display them around the trailer. Some days they would be by the picnic tables, sometimes they would stand on the roof. Even now, if you come into our Mission location, you will see Ed's original paper-m ch penguins on display. Kind people from all over started giving Ed penguins, and the collection grew. We can now claim one of the two largest penguin collections in the country.Originally, Ed had named his barbeque operation "Crossroads BBQ, " but amidst all the penguins, Ed's burgeoning nickname "Penguin Ed" stuck.

I have a traveling job that takes me to KS, MO, NE, OK and AR. I have been doing this for 5 years and I have eaten at hundreds of R/Lobster restaurants. This has to be one of worst I have dined in. I sat at the table for 15 minutes before the waitress came over. This place was empty at 8.15pm. I ordered a Chivas and club soda. I get some drink with pepsi. The waitress came back again after 6 minutes and got me the right drink. But I doubt it was Chivas, as it tasted like some cheap whisky. I ordered lobster dip as appetizer and clam chowder as entree. I get the chowder first. I did not touch the chowder as I wanted to have the appetizer with my drink. 10 minutes later the waitress brings over the lobster dip. It was extremely salty. It basically killed my appetite. So if anyone is on diet or want to lose weight, I would strongly recommend the lobster dip, as it would make you not wanting anything else. By the time I had few bites of the appetizer, the chowder was already cold. It was very obvious that the waitress knew I was not happy, as ehe did not ask me if the food was okay or if anything was wrong seeing the untouched food. The waitress asked me if I wanted a to go box. I had to bite my tounge not to respond to her question. It was not like they were busy. There were only about 10 guest in the whole restaurant. The waiters were sitting at the small bar, and talking and making jokes. I have never come across any Red Lobster that the waiters and waitresses could sit around and do nothing. I would give this place a 0 stare for service, quality and friendliness.

As a customer of 6+ years I feel very much betrayed for my loyalty to this establishment. After excusing numerous instances of growing pains through the changing of staff over the years, and locations, as well as recommending/defending the establishment to friends, only to be argumentively dismissed by management when for the first time I reject the order I've ordered every time I've ate at the establishment for the last 6+ years (sometimes 2x a week for months) because it was wrong. I can accept the preparation of the order has been changing over time as I've dined there long enough and consistently enough to watch the subtle changes over time to my favorite dish, but to be told flat out that it is prepared correctly and try to invalidate my many years of dining experience and patronage is unconscionable. One cannot tell me that what is best described as an oil slick of spaghetti noodles and 2-4 onion/peppers is an acceptable version of the hibachi noodles I've ordered consistently for years at that location. Worse still, is to have the manager/owners defending wait staff that laughs off as trivial the holding of steaming hot and heavy plates over my 1.5 year old son when delivering the trays to the table is inexcusable. I've never had my loyalty to a location be so incidentally dismissed over what could have been easily handled with a little tact and consideration. I will never return to this location and will seek in every way possible to deter my associates from patroning the location as well; especially when there are several other similar dining experiences I could easily have chosen and will choose in the future.

Going to Herman's isn't just going out to dinner. If you want a quick bite to eat, this isn't your place. If you want to dine in atmosphere and enjoy your food with your group and have good conversation, then you have found it. Herman's on a Razorback Game weekend is a must do in your lifetime. If you are from the opposing team your are more than welcome, but be prepared to be serenaded with the Hog fight song. It's all in fun. As far as the food, the intire menu is fantastic. The ribs will leave you speechless. Order a steak and Nick will plate it with perfection. Don't forget to get a side of garlic sauce. This condiment is addicting, so beware! Overall, if you are coming to north west Arkansas you must visit this institution.

Food is very good. Pricing is great. Plenty of items to choose from on the menu. Suggestions: Better quality (heavier) silverware. Better quality bread basket (stainless steel). Upgrade wine menu (not to a larger selection, just better choices than brand like Woodbridge and Cavit) Offer fresh Cracked Pepper to tables. Offer Fresh Grated Parmesan to tables. Very good food though! Always enjoy Joe's Italian Food.

Great food but could be spicier. Excellent service and reasonable prices. Since it is inside an old fast food place, it does not look very exotic, but maybe that will improve with time.
