Buyer Beware!!!!! This store has a game going that everyone should be aware of. You see something you like? You have to order it. Oh, but they will give you 30% off "custom orders" on certain sale days! Then you are required to pay 50% down and sign on the dotted line. Guess what!??! Once they have your money, you absolutely cannot change your mind or change the order AT ALL!! I called Chris Hartley (interim store manager) to modify my order within three business days. When I didn't hear back from anyone, I then went down there the next day and he and Pam Hill insisted the fabric was already cut and in production as soon as it was faxed on Saturday! Funny, they couldn't provide me a date and time stamp from the factory to prove the order was in production. In fact, they claimed they didn't even know what factory was handling the order! I have never been treated more rudely in my life! I even worked in the industry for 14 years so I know a thing or two about customer service! I finally spoke to the owner, Leigh Farmer, and discussed their absurd sales tactics/policies. Do you think they care???? NO WAY! No other competitor in the area is as greedy as this store. Corporate simply says it's up to the individual store. So I filed a complaint with the Attorney General and it looks as though my only chance for remedy is to seek justice through the court system to get my deposit back. What a crock!

Basset like almost all furniture stores are importing just about all their merchandise from China and even Russia. If you want U.S. made products you will probably need to get them custom made by someone like the Amish families in Fort Smith. The sales people have almost no knowledge or training in the making and maintenance of leather, wood and fabric products. Rather, they are absolutely driven to sell certain selections and up the ticket as much as possible. The Basset store in NW Arkansas is particularly noted for shoddy sales ploys.

I bought a table from here less than a year ago. It was not cheap. Last week a chunk of wood came off. I called and left a message, no call back. I called the next day, spoke with a salesman, and a manager was to call me back. No call. I called again that night, they told me I would have to bring the table in or they would charge $85 for someone to come look at it. That was not acceptable to me so a manager was still supposed to call. Guess what? No call. I also emailed the General Manager who sold me the table. No response. Moral of the story. I wouldn't buy from here.

DO NOT COME HERE! My wife and I came here because of the credit program and still paid off in cash because we have little credit. We bought the majority of their high end stuff. This has got to be the biggest joke of junk I have ever seen. Our recliner on BOTH sides of our LEAST used love seat has broke. We had them fix it. Not 1 month later and this junk has broke again. You know what they told us? "Well make sure you sit up all the way before you push it in." I have tried to accomplish pushing my feet in while reclining, its not gonna happen. You HAVE to sit up all the way. If their high end stuff speaks anything for the store, I'd hate to even buy their low end stuff. This is junk, that we paid high dollar for, just for it to break with easy use in a year. NEVER AGAIN will I come here nor will I recommend ANYONE at all to come buy this junk. Go elsewhere! Or hell buy from the shady guy on Craigslist, it'll probably be more reliable than this crap they call furniture. I didnt even want to go into the rest of the stuff we bought like our table which broke all four feet in less than month, but id figure you'd get the picture. We went to the Springdale one that gets the SAME furniture but I guess their shady practice is not to allow reviews on there so I have to write it here.

Cleo's is a terrible furniture store because of their NO RETURN policy. The recliner chair we bought there was positioned against the back wall and when we tried it out, it didn't go all the way back, but you would assume that it would, so we bought it. We wanted a "regular" recliner that reclines. This particular one didn't and they wouldn't take it back after 3 days of owning it stating that's store policy. What kind of customer service is that? Well, no one in our family of 16 adults will ever shop there again. Good luck going out of business!

First of all, you are told you can get your furniture within 30 days. We received a couple pieces that were "in stock," but it took several weeks more to receive the rest. Also, they heavily promote ("SELL") their "Guardsman" furniture protection program. The salesperson (Pam) told us that near the end of the warranty period, just call them and they will take care of all the wear and tear. Sounded good! But, what a big fat lie! We could get nothing taken care of! We couldn't even get the marring on the leather (not natural flaws) that most likely occurred during transport from overseas taken care of that we reported upon delivery! But, don't take my word for it. Google Guardsman, and you will find it is a scam. Shame on Bassett for lying about such a costly and useless program. For upholstery, just buy an after-market protection system (such as Scotch Guard) and reapply it as directed, and you'll be MUCH better off! The legs on the leather sofas also were not secured. For wood furniture, just know that the wood and/or finishes do not hold up well. They spin freely (and they aren't round!). So, the legs look broken if the sofas are moved at all. We were very disappointed with our purchases, and would have been better off spending much less at Ashley (ugh!) for the same thing. In the end, you don't always get what you pay for. You can go to a merchant like Ethan Allen and get the quality and service you pay for (in our experience with them). Or, you can go to Bassett, and get crap for the amount you will hand over to them.

Just a moment...
