STAY AWAY! I TOOK MY CAR IN JUST TO HAVE AN ENGINE INSTALLED. THEY STOLE MY AIR BAGS, CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH, AND CATAYTIC CONVERTER. PRIOR TO ME TAKING MY CAR TO THE SHOP, I HAD IT INSPECTED AND THEIR WERE NO LIGHTS ON. I GO TO PICK UP MY CAR THE ENGINE, AND AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE ON. THEY PUT IN PRINT "CUSTOMER WAS AWARE THAT AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON,' NO CUSTOMER WASN'T AWARE BECAUSE THE LIGHT WASN'T ON. I, ALSO DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THEY DROVE MY CAR, BECAUSE THEY JAMMED C,D'S IN MY RADIO. I DON'T EVEN LISTEN TO C.D'S. POINT I JUST WANTED MY ENGINE INSTALLED. NOT MY AIRBAGS, CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH, CATALYTIC CONVERTER MISSING, NOR MY RADIO MESSED UP. I WENT AND SPOKE TO GARY AND LET HIM KNOW HE MESSED WITH THE WRONG ONE, HE'S GOING DOWN! YOU CAN'T SCAM EVERYBODY. HE'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR SO LONG WHEN YOU READ THE REVIEWS.HE THINKS HE CAN SCAM EVERYBODY. GARY YOU AND MR. MUFFLER ARE GOING DOWN!

STAY AWAY! Quoted over $8,000 in repairs for a commercial vehicle, and threatened our employee with "huge fines from the state police" if he didn't get the repairs done right away.We went to another local shop in Novi, and got the repairs completed for $2,200 - just over 1/4 of the price quoted by Garrett.I can honestly say that this is one of the worst mechanics I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. I grieve for anyone who gets ripped off by these scam artists. Do not trust them, do not let them work on your vehicles, and stay FAR AWAY.

This is THE WORST PLACE to bring your car to fix! I had a trouble with overheating and a couple days after repair my car got overheated again! there was no guarantee for their repair and I had to pay every time I visited there. This shop should be investigated.I don't want someone to have the same experience that I had.

Stay away from this dealer!!!Right after repair my car had the same problem again. They cannot repair your car. Don't trust them. I brought my car to another and they said someone screwed up the thermostat and that's why my car has the same problem again and again.

I needed breaks and rotors for my Ford Edge. I called the shop and Gary has answered he gave me the price for rotors and break pad and even he has asked my model and make of my car the price was $225 + taxes. I have taken to the shop in evening after removing tires he gives me different quote I will $225 if I do service my calipers it he charged $64 for each one. I did not hand any option and let me do. Total he charged me $369 including taxes. I would rather recommend going to show room for work warranty. I asked ask him about warrant of the job he tells me if any problem bring it back. I think he is cheating people. Sorry guy I don't know how u people's has giving 5 stars for that shop and him. I would not give him 1 star also but I don't have option here. But giving 1 star, on of the client has same problem he has written in the review but I neglected it. Because the way Gary talk to you on phone u think he is genuine person but nothing but fraud, that's all I can tell about the shop and person

Garrett Truck and Auto Repair fixed my husband's Ford diesel truck after another repair shop messed with it for two weeks. That was 15 years ago. Garrett's kept that 2000 Ford F250 7.3l Powerstroke well maintained and in excellent running condition for many years and continues to this day. The truck has nearly 400,000 miles on it. Does Garrett Truck and Auto cost more? Not at all. You depend on your truck like we do, having it down for any time at all is what costs the most. Garrett Truck and Auto Repair Services are masters at diagnosing and repairing, and they get the work done fast. Being from Novi, it's a short distance to drop off the truck. I've recommended their repair facility to friends in the landscaping business who've told me they are exceptionally happy with the customer service and especially the quality of the parts they use and the experience of their mechanics. You pay more when another company does the repair wrong and Garrett Truck and Auto Repair Services has to fix their mistakes. That's my experience. Had diesel fuel injectors diagnosed and replaced, glow plugs replaced, front-end work done and if you know Ford, the lock plungers had to be replaced. Super happy with the repair and maintenance from Garrett.

I took my 2004 Nissan Altima sedan to this service shop to have the exhaust manifold replaced. I dropped off the car at 12pm (estimate time) on a Monday with 186507 Miles (300155 Kilometers) on my car. I spoke to the manager or owner Garry who said i should bring the car in. Then he called me later on that day saying the total cost will be $949.00; In nutshell, we agreed to a price of $600.00 for labor and parts. He mentioned that it will take a day or two to fix (weird). I went back the next day, Tuesday evening - the manifold replacement has not been completed. Two days later i got a call that the car is done but he noticed my car needs alternator check. I said he should not fix anything else. I will come and pick my carI got to the garage at 5.30pm on wednesday, i noticed my receipts indicated that I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT MY BATTERY LIGHT AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ARE ON. Lights not there before. Then I noticed my mileage is now 186560 (300240 Kilometers), i challenged Garry where he and his technicans drove my car to? to accrue extra 60miles (80 kilometers) on my car ? he denied driving my car.I also challenged the warning lights that appeared on my dashboard, i did not ask him to check my alternator or wiring system or brake. I only want my Manifold replaced. Garry denied touching or fudging anything. After the argument, i called him when i got home to express my de-satisfaction. He called me back 15minutes later to bring the car back to the shop to have it "fixed"I took the car back on Friday to have the rootcause of the warning light corrected at NO CHARGE. By the time i went back to pick the car, the shop was closed, i had to go home and get a spare key and picked up my car!I strongly believe Garry and his team altered some parts in my car to make me pay for unnecessary repairs.Taking advantage of customers to do unneeded repairs is a low ball and unprofessional. This is unacceptable for a franchise like Mr Muffler! Garry and his team are very dishonest they should be warned and investigated

We needed brakes done on our 2002 Ford Conversion Van. Called around and at first was very impressed with the friendliness of Gary on the phone. Took the van in and, was even more impressed with the work done. Great Price! Great job! Great People! Will definitely go back for future work. Don't normally do reviews but this place is#1
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
