Meho's Painting
Meho painted the following areas: bedroom, entire walk-out lower level, laundry room, garage, balcony upper-level. In addition to applying the necessary coats of paint finish, he thoroughly prepared all surfaces (sanding, patching, caulking), applied primer, etc. - he even installed and painted crown molding, baseboards, shelving, etc. There were also old pieces of furniture that I asked him to attempt to refurbish, - whether it needed spraying or staining, he did! Everything looks brand new, and my home is an even greater pleasure to live in. Dear homeowners, there are contractors that are less expensive than Meho, but be warned, with them you'll get exactly what you pay for - cheap work for a cheap price. In the long run, you'll end up paying more, again contracting with a provider to redo the work previously done. With Meho, you will certainly get more than what you paid for. At the end of the day, I paid him more than what I was quoted, because his work exceeded my expectations (yet again) and he truly went above and beyond. Description of work:"What did the provider do?" - my answer is, what didn't he do?! He is a perfectionist - he is the most reasonable, reliable, and professional contractor. If there is anything that I want to invest my time and money in, it is my home - and I would NEVER compromise on quality. I have used the services contracted by Meho in the past on my condominium unit and he exceeded my expectations. Whenever I had other contractors come to my home (to replace my windows, to install carpeting, to repair an appliance), I always received compliments on Meho's paint job. And these contractors enter homes upon homes for a living, so obviously I know my paint job is extra special Now that I'm an expecting (first-time) mother, I reached back out to Meho to update some of the areas in the interior of my home, including what once a guest bedroom, and is now a nursery. And in the future, when I again envision a new look to bring to my home, I will reach out to Meho, and only Meho.
Tips & Advices
For a long-lasting paint job, a clean wall is crucial. Ask how they plan to clean your walls, if at all, before getting started. A high-quality company will thoroughly prepare a wall so that the paint will lay smoothly and last a long time.
Yes. A well-established company will have more experience and likely more references for you to reach out to than a new company that's just getting off the ground. Be sure to ask for references so you can speak to former customers about their experience working with the painter. When speaking to these people, ask about:
  • Whether they had issues with the crew
  • If the painters were messy or neat
  • How the paint has held up since the project was completed
The quality of the paint will affect how good the walls look when the project is completed. If your contractor says they plan on using a paint you don't like, feel free to request an alternative.
If the contractor makes a point to train new hires on safety techniques as well as quality standards on the job, you're probably in good hands.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of cases where a painter has stolen items from a home or caused damage to the house or injury to the homeowner. Subcontractors may not be as skilled as employees, and the contractor you're hiring may not have much experience working with them, making them more of a risk. Additionally, ask if the painters are employees or subcontractors, and what the screening or hiring process is like.
