7:7 Tire Shop
I am a little biased because this is my dad's tire shop, but I thought I would clarify for those of you who have never visited before. My dad specializes in used tires. He has over 9,000 and the largest selection in the tri-state. It is very difficult for you to call and get a quote for a tire because he has so many. They *may* be able to give you a range over the phone, but what he charges you depends on the tread and the worth of the tire that you end up picking once you are at the shop. For example, you might call a used car lot and say how much is _____ car/truck/SUV. Each used car is going to be different depending on miles, condition, year and model, etc. They may give you specific prices on the phone because they only have 3-5 of the vehicle you're requesting on their lot. My dad most likely has 20+ of whatever tire you want, unless it's hard to find... and then it is probably going to be more money in that case because it is hard to find. Some shops in town advertise 4 used tires for $70.00, but like my dad says, they probably aren't worth putting on. Everybody is trying to save a buck, but is an $18 tire a good deal when you have to go get another one a month later? I hope that sheds a little more light on the business as a whole. If you want a great deal on used AND NEW tires, give Tony (my dad) a call. He'll fix you up!

Rideout's Transmission Repair Inc
I am a business owner in las Vegas and had a trans on our 2007 dodge 3500 lose the torque converter. The trans had 9000 mile on it from my local shop. We got towed to Aramco which quoted us a 3100.00 for a swap out trans. My local shop asked for some tests to determin what the problem was. And were in able to do...Tow driver recommended us to the boys at rideout..These guys know what there doing. Did test as I requested and we had a convertor failure which took out pump and trans needed a full over haul. $1000 cheaper than Aramco and showed me step by step..did also a few upgrades and got us back on the road in 2 days. After we got back on the road I was extremely satisfied with there performance. Trans has never shifted this well. and we work this truck hard pulling a 3 car wedge at an average of 26k lbs. Thanks guys for the fast and quality work. Midwest Truck & Trailer
I appreciate them getting me in and getting my trailer lights fixed and the work was good they got my lights and brakes working. But they did not listen to me when I dropped the trailer off to when the problem started after a blown tire which I showed them where the wire was disconnected from the trailer light. They spent hours looking for the wire that was grounding out my trailer and in the end it was in the junction box by the tires. So of course my bill was twice as much as it should have been and if they would have started there it would have all been good and they would have gotten 5 stars but I feel that I was screwed on price and was blown off when I wanted to discuss why the bill was so much. Lesson learned will never return or recommend the business to anyone.

Kenny Kent Chevrolet
I called to set up an appt for my car to get an oil change, AC checked, and brakes changed. I was told on the phone that I'd have a car I could while they fixed my car. I get there and they have no car for me so I'll have to wait. The original wait time I was told was an hour and a half max. I ended up waiting for 4 hours! Not to mention they fixed things in my car I did NOT ask for and charged me twice what I was originally quoted. I will NOT be returning here. The only good thing is that they fixed what needed fixing and that's it

Bowen Auto Services
We were given an estimate of nearly $500 by an automotive and tire chain business here in town. We decided to give Kevin at Bowen''s a call. He completed the work the next morning for under $40. When we left we encountered what we thought was a problem with the work and they didn't hesitate to say they'd pay for a tow truck to come get us. Turned out we figured it out and it was nothing and everything was done corrdctly so we didn't need a tow, but what great people to do business with! We couldn't be any more pleased.

Raben Tire and Auto Service
Vocational Rehab required me to have my 2015 Equinox inspected by an ASE certified mechanic before installing a lift for my wife's scooter. The rehab counselor said it should take roughly 30-60 minutes and cost about $35. Instead it took over 1 1/2 hours and cost $142!! That included no repairs (since the vehicle passed), just the inspection checklist. We will NOT be returning to Raben for any work in the future. If an inspection costs that much, I'd hate to think what they would charge us for any needed repair work!

Raben Tire and Auto Service
This business has been my choice for service for my car for years. They are the most respectful of my time as well. They are ready when they say they will work on it, done in the predicted time, cost is reasonable, and the work is just fine, and the employees are polite and quickly understand my description of the perceived need.

Dr Dashboard
The guys at Dr. Dashboard were super helpful. They had a dvd player fixed for us for free even though my 2 year old stuck too many dvds inside it and broke it. Then, my battery died, and they helped me figure out what to do with it. Great customer service!
Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.

Just a moment...
