Super Service Center
The water pump on our truck blew on the interstate at 10:00 am. We called AAA and Super Service Center. They were closing at noon since it was Saturday and closed on Sunday, but said they would stick around a get us back on the road. It took 3 1/2 hours to get a tow to the center. They waited for us, fixed the truck, did a great job and were as nice as they could be. I would not have been at all surprised if they would have gone home but I am extremely impressed and appreciative that they stayed. I even tried to give them a tip and they wouldn't take it, I wish we had service techs with this level of integrity and customer service in Kansas City. Thanks again for getting us back on the road!!!

Bowen Auto Services
We were given an estimate of nearly $500 by an automotive and tire chain business here in town. We decided to give Kevin at Bowen''s a call. He completed the work the next morning for under $40. When we left we encountered what we thought was a problem with the work and they didn't hesitate to say they'd pay for a tow truck to come get us. Turned out we figured it out and it was nothing and everything was done corrdctly so we didn't need a tow, but what great people to do business with! We couldn't be any more pleased.

Raben Tire and Auto Service
Vocational Rehab required me to have my 2015 Equinox inspected by an ASE certified mechanic before installing a lift for my wife's scooter. The rehab counselor said it should take roughly 30-60 minutes and cost about $35. Instead it took over 1 1/2 hours and cost $142!! That included no repairs (since the vehicle passed), just the inspection checklist. We will NOT be returning to Raben for any work in the future. If an inspection costs that much, I'd hate to think what they would charge us for any needed repair work!

Patino's Automotors
I went with a damaged car (Toyota Matrix) to his shop and he said that the car not be repaired and was better to sale as a scrap metal. I gave him the car, and he sold me an used car. The used car had a lot of heating issues and at the end I move to another repair shop and they found the problem. But the big surprise was he re-sealed the "junk car", inclusive, he did not remove the stickers. I saw the car parked in Washington Square Mall in Evansville.Patino's deceive us, taking advantage from our car situation.

Red's Roadside Assistance
I called Red's Roadside this morning to see how much it would be to tow my Blazer to have new tires put on. Two of my tires were flat. He not only towed my vehicle, he also called and got me a great price on better tires than I was going to buy. Josh saved me a good amount of money today! He was very personable as well as professional. Red's Roadside Assistance is my new go to for towing or any other roadside assistance I may need. Kevin who actually towed the truck was here in no time and even took the time to let me know when he was just about here. He definitely knew what he was doing. Kevin was just as personable and professional as Josh. Thanks guys!

Tips & Advices
Yes, most roadside assistance coverage plans offer towing services. There might be certain restrictions, however. For example, the plan may only cover towing services for a certain number of miles. Drivers should check with their providers for details.
Which cars are covered depends on the roadside assistance provider. AAA services are available to members and not specific to any vehicle. As long as members pays their dues and have their membership card on hand, they can use AAA for someone else's car. Generally, auto insurance plans cover the car itself, not the driver, so people can't use their roadside assistance for another. However, details vary between providers, plans and local laws. Drivers should consult with their insurance providers to see whose cars are covered.
Roadside assistance coverage varies depending on the provider. However, they generally include:
  • Tire change
  • Battery jump start
  • Towing services
  • Locksmith service
  • Minimal mechanical labor
  • Delivery of oil, fuel, batteries or other parts
If a driver has a flat tire and no spare, roadside assistance services can deliver a new one. However, these services will not pay for the cost of the tire. That will be the driver's responsibility. Based on the location, some will tow a car to a tire dealer.
Most roadside assistance plans offer gas delivery and service. However, clients are generally responsible for the cost of the gas.
