I just got my new roof with a Golden Pledge warranty from Ace. We own a older house so we have done allot of improvements. Ace is the best contractor so for.Joseph took his time to help us to understand the different roofs, Joe the installer was fast , clean, and checked in ever night to tell us what was done. Herb in the office was very nice and went out of his way to help us. We will have to re plumb in the spring and we will only use Ace. THANK YOU ACE !!!

Elbert Construction
Elbert's replaced our roof after last year's severe hail storm. They made working with the insurance adjuster very easy and provided great follow up on every aspect of the job. It was a pleasure working with them and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

AAA Handyman
My family's house has holes in the roof thanks to Fred Osborne, the owner of AAA Handyman in Evansville, Indiana! After a recent storm, Fred Osbone contacted us and told us that we needed our roof and siding replaced. My wife was threatened with harm if we did not have him do the work. How he got our information, we do not know. After a few other contractors were contacted, we found there was very little damage and the roof did not need to be replaced, and the siding was not even damaged. I called Fred Osborne and told him I did not want him to do the work. He came to our house and tried to get us to pay the total amount up front, when we did not want him to start on the job. He proceded to threaten me. He walked over to his vechicle and pulled out a gun and waved it in the air. The man is a very dangerious and disturbed man. A month later, my wife and I found out he tried to charge our insurance company. Our insurance company almost canceled our insurance when they found out that Fred Osborne was going to do the work, since he had lost his BBB rating. It was not enough to cause so much trouble, but he tried to solicit our daughter. After doing some research, we found out that he does not have his business at Petersburgh Rd. but at Brenner CT., in fact he moves around often. Look at his web site, if you see an older person than in the picture, LOCK YOUR DOORS, Call the Police! Thank You, to this web site for allowing people to know about the really bad contractors! Web sites like yours, helps people every day.
Tips & Advices
The most common types of roofing material are:
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Metal roofing
  • Slate shingles
  • Concrete roofing
Metal roofing material and algae-resistant asphalt shingles are the appropriate roofing material for rainy climates.
Houses located in  areas which are prone to wildfires, should avoid the use of flammable roofing materials such as wood shingles.
Not only should you ask to get in contact with past clients, it is also recommended that  homeowners visit projects currently underway to see how the contractor or company actually performs during a job. You can also go online and check out other customer reviews.
Reputable roofers do offer a warranty against poor workmanship. Additionally, the material used often carries a warranty from the manufacturer against defects (assuming proper installation). It is the homeowner’s responsibility to check on the availability of all such warranties before any work is performed.
