If you're a residential customer AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE! The business is mainly concerned with commercial accounts leaving the consumer to fiend for themselves. I requested one day notice when my lawn would be treated- that never happened even after repeated requests. The treatments were always three weeks behind scheduled dates as they appeared on the invoice. Very unprofessional! They always had an excuse for my complaints, namely, employee turnover. That in itself should be a red flag. I've invested over $1500 with this outfit and have nothing but a hurrendous lawn to show for it. A word to the wise lawn treatment seakers- don't be duped by this company as l was. They will promise you the world but they cannot deliver. I am not the only sucker who was taken in by this business. Numerous friends and relatives have had similar dealings only to be compounded by the owner's disrespect to the property owner and failure to honor his contract. Caveat emptor:-)
Verbally Abusive, Belligerent and UnreliableThe job was acceptable up until about two years ago when things began falling apart. Owner has had a hard time keeping steady help, and was always playing "catch up" with our property. Requested work orders way behind schedule or not fulfilled at all, sometimes even at the last moment (e.g. Fall Cleanup) leaving us to fend for ourselves with few alternatives as most other Landscapers were booked by then.Overly sensitive with a hair trigger temper, owner cannot handle anyone justifyingly questioning his work. He has verbally abused my sister over the phone and me to my face. Clover and weeds had been spreading in the yard, it was his responsibility to get it under control and he failed to do so. When we politely asked for a bottle of treatment solution so we could do spot control between visits (WHICH WE SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO DO IF HE HAD DONE THE JOB WELL), he exploded and told me that" if I had been inside more doing things like making meals, etc. I would not have the time to notice every weed underfoot". I feel this was a sexist remark by a man of weak character who is taking out his troubles on loyal customers who deserve what they paid for, not insults and excuses.Lack of quality has become his sub-standard. There are many Landscapers out there, make sure you choose one who will give you the quality job and respect you deserve, own up to their mistakes and work with you to rectify them, and remember that the customer is ALWAYS number one!
The only one you need to call for quality work! A respected staple in Erie business since the 80's
When I went to Dirt works I was looking for a few simple things for my garden. The most important thing that i needed was some good topsoil for my garden and part of my lawn that I wanted to reseed after removing a small out building. Once I got there I checked into the office. I saw their was a number to call for loading of material I called the number and in less than five min their was a representative from dirt works there to answer my questions about the products that they offer. What I found is that they offer more than just topsoil and that their topsoil is not your average screened dirt pulled from a field. They take compost and add it into their topsoil and then run it through a processor to mix and to screen all the stones out. They informed me that with this topsoil I do not need to use fertilizer when using their product. They also offer screened compost, screened horse manure, wood chips, and mulch. Great service easy to work with.
