On July 12 I noticed my A/C was not working. I called Sobella's and they sent a tech out that day to diagnose it. The tech arrived and spent about 10 minutes checking and told me there was nothing wrong with the A/C, it was electrical and I needed to call an Electrician to fix the problem. I was then charged the $95 service fee for him coming. By then it was already 5pm, luckily I was able to find an Electrician to come out right away. He arrives and checks everything out multiple times and tells me all of the electrical is perfectly fine and it is indeed the A/C broken. So I then have to pay him $75 for the service fee since the other tech didn't know how to do his job. I left a message to Sobella's who returned the call the next morning saying they were sending out their "senior tech". He arrives the next day around noon and then he indeed says it is the A/C, and diagnoses it as a ground compressor. He runs me a quote (w/ discount from wasted money) that comes out to around $1200 and that is with the compressor being covered by warranty. I tell him that seems very high and I was quoted by a different company for only $600 and he shrugs his shoulders and tells me OK. He then tells me they would not be able to send anyone to replace the part until July 18th! I ask him if there is anyway to send a tech within those 5 days (really 6 now) to help me and he says no. I told him that is way too long to wait and that quote is outrageous (as I have a cousin who is also an HVAC tech in another state helping me out) and he has me sign a ticket saying he came for $0 and tells me to call if I want to use them. As he is walking out (and sees my little baby sitting on the floor in a diaper sweating) he sarcastically tells me to drink some water and leaves. I then have another technician from a different company come out to take a look later that day and he diagnoses it as a seized compressor, which even though it was the compressor it is NOT the same diagnosis Sobella's gave me.

Modern Appliance Repair
Beware!!!!!!! Don't make my mistake. I recently used Modern Appliance Repair 231-8496. JR (owner) was not able to repair my one year old dryer. He removed the part he installed and that I had already paid for and told me he would reimburse me the part minus service call. I considered that very fair and agreed. It has been longer than a month and he is now avoiding my calls and has not refunded me the cost of the part.April 30, 2016 Invoice #141 $160.85 Electronic Control Board #DC92-01626B

Jose Martinez came to the house to effect warranty repairs on our kitchen double oven range. He did a great job and was highly professional and pleasant too. Had it all done in about 1-1\\2 hours. In all of my years this was probably the best experience that I have had with any repair service. They are on my recall list should I ever need repairs in the future on any of our appliances.

Mr Donoso I really appreciate good and bad feedback from my costumers. The initial problem with your washer was repaired and washer is working great. Second issue was due to minor adjustment leveling. My apologies for delaying the service and was not done intentionally. If there's anything I can do to make your bad experience with us better let me know and I'll be more than glad to do so. SincerelyJorge loyaOwner
Tips & Advices
Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.
Replacement parts generally come with warranties extending anywhere from 30 days to five years, depending on the original price, the nature of the fix and the age of the part itself.
If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
