In April 2014, I tore my ACL while playing tennis. I had surgery to repair my ACL on the 13th of May 2014. I elected to use a section of my hamstring to repair, although my doctor advised me that recovery could take longer than with an allograph. One short week after surgery, I crutched into the Spine and Rehab Specialists and met my Physical Therapist, Nancy Silva, and her team of assistants. I immediately felt like I was in competent and caring hands. My therapy was was tailored to meet my goals - very innovative. I always felt like Nancy and the whole staff was there to ensure that I not only met my goals, but exceeded them. There were days that I thought I couldn't complete the exercises that I was given, but that's when the staff "cheered me on" and inspired me to not only complete the exercises I was given, but I exceeded the number repetitions. I grew to look forward (sick, I know) to my sessions because with each session I was growing stronger and more confident. One of my first goals was to return to teaching fitness class. After injury I was told that would take at least 6 months!!! Well, with the help of the Spine & Rehab Specialists team, I'm proud to say that I was teaching my group cycle and Body Pump classes a mere 2 months later! That not only helped me physically, but was a tremendous boost mentally. My second goal was to return playing tennis. I love being out on the courts and the camaraderie of playing with my tennis team. I was told that this goal would take at least a year. Again, my Spine & Rehab Specialists team did not disappoint. 5 months later I was taking lessons, and 6 months later playing games with my team mates. In January, I will resume league play. WOOO HOOO!! I saw my orthopedist in November and he was simply amazed by my progress. He said it was a MASSIVE SUCCESS STORY . . . I contribute my success to a great surgeon, amazing and innovative Physical Therapist (NANCY SILVA) and a caring and committed therapy staff. Thank you Spine & Rehab Specialists!!

When I came to Spine & Rehab Specialists I had lower back injury with numbness down my right leg. I was prescribed medication, a back brace before I was referred to physical therapy. After going through treatment, I was able to go without medication and the back support by taking the exercises serious and do the exercises at homes when I felt a little pain coming on. Being a retired medic for the US Army, we are helping soldiers get back on the battlefield. Spine & Rehab Specialists help people get back to their lives. Their motto "We Have and Exercise for that." The staff of Spine & Rehab is very friendly and professional. Everybody knows your name like the old television show "Cheers." Be honest with your therapist so they can better assist you in your treatment and you will get stronger and fell better over a period of time. Thank you, Marina and the staff for all you do for the Military, men, women, and teenagers that come to your facility for treatment.

One morning I woke up at 3 a.m. with a nagging pain in the center of my right gluteous, and I couldn't get back to sleep at all due to the pain. I sat in a chair and was finally able to get some sleep. This was the only way that I get relief from the pain. This excruciating pain and lack of sleep continued for two weeks. I finally got to see Dr. Mandfiel, who had x-rays taken and recommended therapy. I chose to see Harry Koster because I had previously seen him for another back problem, with great success. After five weeks of deep muscle massage, and stretching exercises, I was able to sleep through the night with no more pain. I am no longer in therapy, and continue to do the series of exercises that I was taught and am still feeling better. Thank God for Harry and his little elves.

Spine & Rehab Specialists
When I first started here, I was experiencing pain in my left shoulder when I did certain things. Putting too much weight or pressure on my left shoulder caused pain in my joints. The staff here welcomed me with a steady schedule and very great personalities. They were nice and very caring about my recovery. Over time, I made a recovery due to constant pushing and motivation by the staff. (In a good way, of course.) I have now reached a better state of motion with my shoulder and I will continue to build on what they have started. Spine and Rehab Specialists is the place to be if you're experiencing pain of any kind. Thank you guys. Back to work I go, at my full potential.

I started physical therapy a month ago. I was in a lot of neck and shoulder pain. Sometimes I had pain in my arm and numbness in my finger. After an extensively evaluation my therapist, Eric, understood my problem. He showed me one exercise, which I was doing on my own after a couple of days of doing my exercise I was almost already pain-free. After four appointments I am pain-free. I learned to incooperate my exercise in my daily routine. The Spine & Rehab Center is a wonderful facility with wonderful caring people. The moment you walk in you feel welcome and it has a family line atmosphere. Thank you to every one of you and especially my therapist, Eric.

My success with therapy for my lower back pain has been remarkable. First my therapist took the time to listen to me regarding my pain and when it does occur. He then walked me through different methods to assist me in relieving the pain with different stretches and then when the pain got better, the move into introducing different strengthening exercises to assist me in improving the area where the pain was. I wasn't sure I would have gotten to the point I am now but I am so happy that I was referred to Spine & Rehab and that I can leave pain-free. Thank you Eric and everyone at Spine & Rehab Specialists! You are all Rock-stars.

At the end of March, I fell while doing yard work. I landed on my left knee and left hand, jarring my left hip and shoulder. All healed except for my shoulder. I had difficulty sleeping on my left side, putting on my bra, reaching for seat belt, reaching above my head to put dishes away, etc. Finally after nearly 6 months of pain, I went to the doctor and was referred to physical therapy. After only a couple months of therapy, I was able to regain use of my arm again and am pain free. I wish I had known months ago what to do--I would have save myself a lot of pain and grief and gotten a better night's sleep. Thank you Daniel!

My name is Evangelina Garcia and I started coming to Spine + Rehab Specialists about 2 months ago. When I first came I was having shoulder pain almost constantly. I couldn't do my bra sometimes and raise my arms to wash my hair. I was taking 4 and sometimes 6 pain pills a day. At night, I would wake and toss and turn all the time. I think my husband was sick and tired of my complaining all the time. Today, after 2 months, I can tell you I am free of pain. I can now do all my housework and work out some in addition to my therapy sessions. I am very grateful to all the staff, especially my personal physical therapist.

My success or accomplishment begins with agonizing the essentials of running mechanics prior to being referred here, I was perpetually running on the sides of my feet. Furthermore, the therapists that assisted me were very thorough. Consistent assistance on that part is the reason why I naturally run on my toes, tighten my core, and loosen up while running, on the contrary, the cause of my issue is yet to be discovered, but the courteous attitude of the staff and therapists who assisted me contributed to what and how I learned as a outcome. The assistance provided is steeply appreciated!

Because I had an injection in my shoulder that made me feel so much better, I thought the physical therapy wasn't really necessary. I quickly discovered that the exercises they gave me to do showed I needed therapy. I was also pleased to be given exercises at home that were not the only ones I was doing while at therapy. My therapist thoroughly explained what each exercise was expected to accomplish. This put me at ease as well as his sense of humor. I would choose Spine & Rehab again if I'm ever in need of physical therapy. The entire staff is attentive and that is appreciated.
Tips & Advices
A meal replacement is a substitute for a meal, typically a drink or a bar. While processed meal replacements have a set number of calories, many are high in added sugar and low in protein, fiber and healthy fats.
Appetite suppressants, like all drugs, have side effects, so read the fine print and discuss potential side effects with a medical professional before taking them. Stimulant-type drugs can cause insomnia, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, drug dependence and abuse, and withdrawal symptoms. Drugs that work to prevent fat absorption can cause gas, soft stools, and oily spotting. Diet pills that affect neurotransmitters are associated with headache, nausea and vomiting, constipation, dry mouth, and dizziness.
People generally lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) if they stick to a calorie-controlled plan. Increasing exercise can increase weight loss.
Medical weight loss is supervised by a medical professional and targets the causes of obesity and weight gain. Treatments can run the gamut, from diet and nutrition to pills and surgery, but the goal is to help the patient achieve and maintain a healthy weight for life.
Many people can see results in one to two weeks if they stick to their plan. Weight loss results vary from person to person and depend on factors such as starting size and caloric intake level. Including exercise in the program can accelerate weight loss.
