Pacific Child & Family Associates
Hello. Being a mother of a son with autism, I was interested in working with Pacific Child & Family Associates to better help him and maybe find a treatment. My sister-in-law recommended this facility after hearing wonderful reviews. Unfortunately I had a very terrible experience with one of your Direct Service Providers at the location: 9900 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79925. The name of the Direct Service Provider was Julia Antenucci. She was very unprofessional and carried a rude demeanor. I did not appreciate her carelessness toward addressing my concerns about my son. She was not helpful with answering my questions and she was bold enough to tell me to look somewhere else for care. I felt very embarrassed and hurt that day considering how Pacific Child specializes in helping children like my son who are struggling everyday. I will be going elsewhere for help because of the ill-mannered employee. PCFA, please take this e-mail into consideration before hiring inexperienced individuals. I will be sharing my story with others as well so they can beware of that discourteous woman. - CW

I went to the health store and they have Poor customer service, I think that because they carry great products we have to tolerate the bitterness of the fale owner.

Health Naturally
I have never been treated as horribly as my children and I were treated on Friday, March 28th. I have an autistic foster son that I had prayed and hoped I could take to Dr. BenJoseph's office at the Health Naturally Store. CPS approved it and our agency had approved it. This was almost unheard of and almost unprecedented. We went to pick up pre-visit paperwork and I warned my children to behave themselves before we went in. I have to honestly say they were exceptional. Sandy Ben-Joseph was so rude and horrible towards me and my children THREE TIMES. Not knowing who she was, I quietly asked the receptionist what her problem was and why she was being such a B", I left shaken and angry at the way we were talked to and about in front of us. When I got to my car, I had to wait almost 15 minutes before I could drive. My kids said, "Mommy? What's wrong? Weren't we good in there?" I reassured them, "Yes, you guys were VERY good... you can't help that she is a just a hateful, mean woman". I decided to let it go and give her the benefit of the doubt because perhaps she was having a bad day. FOUR days later, they made their poor receptionist call me to tell that I have to come apologize to Sandy or they will refuse to see my family for treatment. I've never heard of such unprofessional, rude people. After sharing this story, I've heard hundreds more like it across the web!!! Beware of these people! I almost gave them $600 to treat me and my children like dogs!
Tips & Advices
Group counseling is when one or more counselors lead a group discussion, usually between five and 15 people. The group may focus on a shared experience or situation, and provide support and encouragement to the other attendees.
Each state defines its own requirements for what licenses and education are needed to be a counselor. It's common for counselors to have a bachelor's degree in psychology or a similar field, as well as a master's degree. After that, counselors should obtain their state license, and can move on to achieving other licenses like the:
  • National Certified Counselor (NCC) license
  • Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) license
  • Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) license
  • Forensic Health Evaluators (FHE) license
  • Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) license
  • Certified Family Therapist (CFT) license
This all depends on the patient's goals and circumstances. Some people are happy with their results after just a few sessions; others continue to meet with their counselors for years. There is no right or wrong length of time to go to counseling.
Anyone can benefit from counseling services. Counseling can help you gain greater insight into yourself; deal with feelings of sadness, worry, depression or anxiety; as well as work out relationship problems, trauma or addiction. Not every type of counseling service works with every person.
Yes. Except in very specific situations, a counselor will never repeat conversations from a counseling session. Situations where information from sessions might be shared include:
  • If the counselor believes the patient might harm him or herself, or someone else.
  • If the counselor wants to get a second opinion on the patient's treatment. If this is the case, the counselor should seek the patient's written permission before consulting another professional.
