Allstate Insurance Agent: Zenia Chavez
I don't believe these folks understand what customer service is. I've had an ongoing issue for over a month with these folks. To resolve the issue, they refer me to someone else. That person refers me back to my agent. It's been back and forth, spending unnecessary time on the phone, fighting, and ultimately having nothing accomplished. Stay clear from this agent, and Allstate for that matter. They will gladly take your money, but not assist you when you need help.

Farmers Insurance - Elsa Ortega
I am shocked to say the least. This company owes me over $2500 and they refuse to pay me. I cancelled my policy in January of this year and have emailed Elsa Ortega numerous times explaining that they continue to bill me although the company has given me a letter stating that our policy has terminated. I called again this morning and spoke to Juanita and said Elsa was not available (like always) and she refused to take any responsibility and said that they are only a broker and not an insurance company & have no responsibility in another company billing me. However, they broker with them and represent the company! They even get a commission for every payment I make!! Juanita said to stop calling and that she felt "threatened" because I kept calling trying to get a refund and she found my situation really funny, she mocked and raised her voice at me numerous times and I had to remind her that she should act like a professional and watch her tone. This is seriously something out of a television show. I never believed that a company would act so disrespectful and abusive. Needless to say I have reported them to the BBB and I currently have an active complaint. They are a very abusive company and then act like they are victims and refuse to take any responsibility. This is my personal experience please choose wisely and ask a lot of questions if you are going to do business with them. Check them out on the BBB for complaints and you will see the currently have active ones filed.

Farmers Insurance - Gabriella Cobian
This agent does not answer the phone, I believe 3 times at the most that she has when I had called. She does not return calls and once text me, that was her way of replying to me. Very unprofessional! I do not know how she still stays in business. I like Farmers, but I would not recommend this agent.

Rey Estrada Insurance
Our 3rd party insurance company ended up cancelling our policy all because Rey didn't make the monthly payments from the cash we gave him up front. Prior to cancellation, I had received a letter from Progressive (our insurance company) saying that they never received payment and would cancel policy unless we made the payment. I called Rey and he said he would fix it. A month later Progressive send me a letter cancelling my policy for good because they never received out money even AFTER i had contacted Rey and he said he would fix it.... ugh please avoid this business. Find someone else to help you find a policy or buy insurance from the specific companies directly. Rey Estrada has no professionalism, they never give receipts of proper paperwork, and apparently as seen in our case, dont even pay the insurance after taking your money.. what a trash business.

Tips & Advices
By law, you need to be insured up to the minimum amount required in your state before getting behind the wheel of any car. Beyond that, your insurance needs will vary depending on your financial situation and the amount of risk you are willing to take on.
  • Full or comprehensive car insurance is the most expensive, but often the best deal for drivers who own an expensive car, those who commute frequently or anyone who lives in an area with extreme weather or high crime rates.
  • Drivers of less expensive or older cars usually save more by opting for the minimum required policy, along with some extra coverage if they can afford it. Since the cost of repairs might exceed the total value of an older vehicle, some owners forgo collision protection in favor of greater liability coverage or personal injury coverage.
If someone other than you causes an accident while driving your car, most insurance policies will still pay for damage, according to the rules that apply. However, it’s a good idea to check with the insurance provider to be sure this is the case. Regardless, either the at-fault driver or the actual policyholder will be responsible for paying for anything not covered by insurance. People who don’t own a car but frequently borrow or rent one might consider purchasing a non-owner policy to make up the difference.
Car insurance premiums might be tax deductible in certain situations, but only with the documentation to prove it. Insurance costs may be deducted as part of overall business expenses if you use that car for work-related travel. However, this does not generally apply to taxpayers who use the standard deduction when filing their income tax returns. If your car is used for business purposes often, save all insurance-related documentation, as well as receipts, invoices and other forms of proof that your vehicle expenses were for business purposes.
Car insurers set premium prices depending on every driver’s individual risk. A huge number of details are factored into every determination of insurance risk, so the cost of any two policies can vary widely depending on the driver’s personal attributes, accident history, location, vehicle type and much more. The type of coverage you choose also impacts what you pay - premiums for minimal liability coverage will almost always be lower than those of a universal coverage policy.
The cost of car insurance is highly variable, but according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, U.S. motorists pay around $900 per year on auto insurance.
