The fried food here is good, but don't expect very much of anything else. We had fried pickles as an appetizer and they were really good. I had the fried chicken liver plate with green beans and macaroni as my entree. The first time I came here the livers were good, but the last time they were too salty. I would reduce the salt by half and cayenne or black pepper for spice. My husband had the salmon with the same sides and I tried it. The fish was under seasoned and the slightest bit over done. The green beans are obviously of the frozen variety, under seasoned, and cooked to the point of being mush. The macaroni and cheese was runny and the noodles overcooked. Our server was nice but a bit inattentive. Our appetizer arrived before our drinks and she put waaaay too much ice in the cups. The first time we came in the owner would not stop coming by to ask how everything was, even before we had any food on the table. I found him to be rather overbearing. They have a bar inside, but they don't serve alcohol, and there are no kids specials. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant clean.Overall, it is on par with what you can expect from El Dorado, AR. However, Larry's Pizza offers a awesome pizza buffet on Tuesdays and two kids eat free per adult. With our three kids and a tip, it comes to $25 for all of us. Bayou Bistro offers a nice dining experience and a full bar. Johnny B's downtown has great food at a lower price and attentive waitstaff. I will probably not be returning to Four Brothers any time soon.
I'm excited about a new business coming into El Dorado and a restaurant is even better.I hope everyone in El Dorado comes out to try some of the menu items. The fried shrimp, oysters and catfish were really good. The jumbo was very much lacking, so avoid this dish if you like gumbo. The picture on the menu showed a good looking plate, but when the plate came out it didn't look or taste accordingly. The whole shrimp in the menu picture was replaced with bits and pieces mixed into the sauce and cooked into mush shrimp that was hard to tell what you were eating. Likewise the dirty rice was mostly rice without any traditional spicy hamburger and other ingredients, just kinda oily rice with a hint of flavor. The tarter sauce was only Mayonnaise with a very little bit of relish added to it, nothing like other restaurants serve.Serving a nice meal in a plastic basket isn't the way to enhance your dining experience.Hopefully management will work out these minor flaws in their menu as well as changing some recipes, so I'll try them again in a few weeks.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambiance! I started with the fried green tomatoes then had the shrimp/catfish combo with cole slaw and loaded baked potato. I finished with the double chocolate cake. The food was made with fresh ingredients, the portion sizes were generous, the preparation was impeccable, and everything was so delicious! Four Brothers is our new favorite place to eat. We will definitely go again.
