Garrigos Socrates
Exemplary Physician-Specialist in Adult MedicineSince 1998, it’s been an honor, privilege, and pleasure to experience the compassionate, empathetic, exclusive, and individualized care Dr. Garrigos renders to all his patients. In addition, his prolific and eloquent English and Spanish articulations augment his talent to empower his patients’ knowledge base of preventive, proactive measures to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle, essential factors necessary to achieve optimum function with minimal to no discomfort.Furthermore, every patient receives a copy of “Summary of Plan” discussed inclusive of: labs results, prescriptions, future orders/advisements, signs and/or symptoms warranting notification to Dr, Garrigos and return appointment. I sincerely commend Dr. Garrigos on his extraordinarily unique technique utilized to provide documentation of: treatments agreed upon; and discussion of pertinent patient education essential for patient compliance and shorten convalescence. Advanced Kids Care P.A.
I had recently moved to the Rio Grand Valley from Alabama and was searching for a good pediatrician for my newborn, my toddler and 11 year old. My search led me to Dr. Douglas. She is very educated in newborn care and I was extremely pleased with her skills. She took the time to talk to my older children and was very caring. She listened to my concerns and addressed them all. She is not one of these doctors that gives out antibiotics for every little thing, causing more problems for children. She finds the cause and treats it accordingly. AKC has an in house lab and well child area. They even have a nursing mothers room! I never had to wait long for my appointment. The office girls are also very helpful and kind. Dr.Douglas is very knowledgeable and I highly recommend her for children of all ages. I just wish I did not have to move back to Alabama and leave her. This Doctor is a keeper!!

Rio Grande 24 Hour Emergency Care - Edinburg
I took my boyfriend in for severe pain on his side & weakness. He had been drinking @ home but he was immediately judged only on that which was not the initial cause of his pain. The triage nurse whose name I don't know was extremely rude. He only saw him as bring drunk & it really frustrated me to the point where I almost snapped & told him off but I didn't. Then after he was in a room, his nurse was not very friendly & treated him the same, as a drunk which he is not. However after finding out he was diabetic, he was a little nicer but not much. I would like to only Thank the doctor who was extremely nice & listened to what we had to say about why I brought him in. If Dr. Greene had not been so nice I probably would never go here again if needed in the future. I still might not but would consider it. Thank Dr. Greene!!

As a mother of 2 beautiful girls, I always try to provide the best for them and have been coming here since 1998 because the doctors at AKC ARE the best. They give special attention to each patient yet still don't keep me waiting for long. My kids have been seen by all 3 providers, but I especially love the way Deb de la Rosa advises my teenage girls. I would recommend this to everyone I know for the best pediatric service there is in South Texas.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
