Forest Apartments
Apts are good. Maint staff is EXCELLENT! New owners are a******s! I am a disabled Vietvet and 3 1/2 year POW. I rely on my disability and socsec. for my $. I was going to be a littile short and asked if they would work with me until the 15th when my SSN check would be posted. Then I could give them the $200 I was going to be short ( $835 rent plus approx $25 water, trash pest control, etc. What I received was a letter threatening me with all but excommunication! I thought I was in Germany in 1933! Not only did they demand full payment plus $41 late fee within 3 days but they demanded certified funds. If I did not comply the Gestapo was going to throw me into the streets, take possession of my belongings and liquidate them to pay my bill. All in 3 days. So much for working with me when I am having a temporary issue. I was reminded of when I did finally return from Viet-nam and was cursed, spit on and had urine thrown on my uniform. That spirit is alive and well with the Nazi owner of The Forest.

Seasons at Southpoint
We spent months seeking the right facility for our aunt. It's an overwhelming experience with many ads online claiming to offer the best care. Seasons impressed us with the friendliness of staff. We researched state & county facility inspections online. Seasons is one of the very few that has been a five star facility for 8 years with no demerits. We chose Seasons & have been delighted. Our aunt greets staff with hugs, they reciprocate & call her by name. Season's customizes activities for residents based on their needs & abilities. Our aunt was a hairdresser & the Activity Director provided her with wigs to style which made her so happy! The director, Matt Cross, is very hands on. He has an open door policy & always makes time to talk to us, address questions & provides information. In other facilities we toured, high staff turnover was an issue. Staff at Seasons consistently praise the director & clearly love their jobs. We consider ourselves fortunate to have found Seasons.

Blooming Garden Inn and Holly House
We needed a central location between Virginia and South Carolina to celebrate 2016 New Years with some old friends. They had the downstairs room and we stayed in the upstairs Moroccan room. Blooming Garden was lovely in every way - Frank made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and included fresh squeezed juice, and fresh fruit. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and inviting. Thanks

Blooming Garden Inn and Holly House
We spent one night at the Blooming Garden Inn on the recommendation of a relative who lives in the Raleigh-Durham area because it was convenient to Duke Memorial United Methodist Church, at which we were to attend a memorial service. The owners, Frank and Dolly, almost made us forget the sad occasion that brought us to Durham. Their company and conversation was delightful--as were the home-made goodies at breakfast Saturday morning. And the careful restoration they have done on this remarkable home is awesome. I could have wandered around all day looking at the work and listening to Frank describe the details of their 2-3 year project.

Blooming Garden Inn and Holly House
Immaculate Victorian grounds and home. Hosts are sweethearts and tend to every need of the guests. Downtown location very convenient to all that Durham offers. Front porch is perfect. Every inch of the home is decorated from hosts' antiquing trips and life moments.

Blooming Garden Inn and Holly House
Owners, Frank and Dolly, offer so much more than other B&B's. It's a lovely place to stay for a get-a-way of any sorts. The perfect place for my solo 2-night business trip to Durham. Delicious food, wonderful conversation, and comfortable beds. Highly recommend for Durham guests or residents.

Blooming Garden Inn and Holly House
I stayed at the Inn with my friend for a conference. Frank (the host) was extremely flexible with our packed schedule and made sure we had a nice breakfast every morning before going to the conference! He even took us on a tour of the city on the first day, and of Duke Garden on the last day. He was also kind enough to give me a ride to the airport. We also had interesting conversations about the houses they restored (the Inn and the house across the street). This conveniently located B&B is a gem of the town.

Blooming Garden Inn and Holly House
Staying with Frank and Dolly is like being home. We were here for a conference. They provided nutritious breakfast and even offered us tours to the Duke campus and the Duke Garden. They also shared amazing stories of their historical home and their life journey. It has got great location, closer to downtown. I recommended anyone coming to Durham to stay here!

Blooming Garden Inn and Holly House
I just spent three nights at the Blooming Garden Inn and found it a wonderful oasis that swept me up in its charms and character. A restored Queen Anne home built near the end of the 19th century, the Blooming Garden Inn features a number of small, charismatic rooms on the first floor, as well as a few relatively spacious bedrooms, with more bedrooms upstairs. Frank and Dolly are the owners and caretakers, and take care of me they did. Arriving into the Raleigh/Durham airport at 12:30am, Dolly stayed up until 1:30am to greet me upon arrival (including with warm chocolate chip cookies!). Frank takes responsibility for providing a terrific breakfast, and can help you to identify any sights or activities in the area in which you may be interested, as well as knowing the local restaurant scene well. They also proved their flexibility by accommodating a 3rd night for my stay which I'd neglected to mention when first booking my room.

Just a moment...
