Grateful Trees and Bees
When we purchased our house in July, I knew that some tree trimming would be required. However, it wasn’t until fall that I could really get a sense of just how much work needed to be done. There were a number of still-standing dead trees that were threatening our newly installed fence. We knew those had to come down right away. However, the real impetus was one still-living sweet gum that had sustained some type of trunk damage and was bound to come down in the next storm. Finally, there were a number of trees that were in need of trimming so that I could start the process of seeding the lawn and trying to get grass to grow in those areas. After doing a quick search online, I came across the Grateful Trees and Bees website and liked what I saw. Their background and certifications, as well as the conservative approach to tree health (i.e. if it is healthy, why bother cutting it down) were comforting. And when Jake showed up to provide an estimate, my wife and I were both reassured that we had made the right decision in contacting GT&B.Not only did Jake walk us through the evaluation of each tree on our property, providing a health assessment, he took the time to explain what I, as a property owner, should be on the lookout for with regard to the health of our stand of trees. I was thrilled that Jake completed the job promptly and completely, even making sure that you cleaned up all of the debris before leaving. There aren’t many service companies remaining these days that still focus on providing top-quality service. I’m pleased to say that Grateful Trees and Bees does, and I will not hesitate to recommend them to my friends.

My neighbor was having some trees trimmed several weeks back so I walked up and asked if they could take a look at some issues I had in my yard. Currie immediately dropped what he was doing and said lets go take a look! He looked at all my trees, gave me a very reasonable price and came within 3 days to do the job! I was a work when they came and when I got home the work was done! The yard was all cleaned up! Plus, Currie and his wife are warm and friendly. I immediately felt like I knew them. I would totally use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

Grateful Trees and Bees
I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Jake and Grateful Trees and Bees. Jake and his crew removed 10 Loblolly pines from my back yard and transported them to the mill. He was always very responsive to email, calls, and texts. I received a quote and insurance information quickly. I'm certain to use Grateful Trees and Bees again in the future.

Tips & Advices
Trees take years to grow and can add value to a property, and a lightning strike can destroy a tree in a instant. Many arborists offer lightning protection systems that can protect trees from being damaged by lightning strikes. These systems use copper cables to ensure that in a lightning strike, the lightning is harmlessly diverted to the soil.
Certain conditions can cause soil to become hard and compacted, and this can make it difficult for grass and trees to access the nutrition they need to thrive. With soil aeration, the soil is perforated with tiny holes, loosening the compaction and making it easier for roots to connect with the air, water, and vital nutrients they require.
Arborists can tell which species of trees are most likely to thrive in your location based on soil conditions and local climate. Also, trees need to be planted at the proper depth to thrive, and an arborist will provide guidance in this area.
Tree trimming can be quite dangerous for the person doing it, and the U.S Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries lists it as one of the most hazardous professions in the nation. Falling branches can cause injury, and electrocution can occur if tree pruning takes place in close proximity to power lines. For these reasons, tree pruning is best handled by a skilled professional.
Tree pruning can have a huge aesthetic impact, and, if artfully done, it can greatly improve a tree's appearance. Tree pruning can also boost the health of your landscape. By thinning a tree's canopy with pruning, the tree and the landscape beneath it will be able to access more air and sunlight, resulting in improved vitality.
