    After jumping around to several salons in Durham (and even Chapel Hill), I have found my ""hair stylist soul mate"". I almost hate to write this review because I don't want her to become even more popular than she is! Angela is amazing. She CONNECTS. She LISTENS. She DELIVERS. I love a stylist that is always willing to try new things... her own hair looks completely different (and amazing) every time I see her which just solidifies her philosophy of not being stale and boring. She's the best. But don't get too upset if you can't get in and might have to wait a long time for an appt. She IS that good.

    After 3 years with this stylist, this is the email I get on the day of my appointment. I recommended her service to a possible new client and only told this person that she charges me $40 for a cut when asked what does she charge. I have short hair and the person I recommended her to has even shorter hair!

    I have greatly enjoyed being your hairstylist over the past few years. I relate and support your politics, like you, I love being a part of the Durham community.
    I am a generous person that tries to reach the specific needs of each of my clients. In your case i happily passed on free bang trims and a lowered coast of service.
    Faced with the knowledge that you referred a client to me based on undermining my standard rate and your promise to her that I would share the same discount given to you.
    I see the error of ever discounting my services to any client. I am no longer going to continue cutting your hair . I am certain my decision is best for the course of my business.
    The standing appointments you made through the end of the year have been canceled.
    Please do not call about this matter, you are welcome to respond through email if necessary. I need you to understand this is not a debate.
    I was undermined and clearly you do not hold value to the service I provide and the business I am running.
    I wish you nothing but the best in the future.

    How is $40 a lowered rate???? Plus a 20% tip??? If that is generous then I hate to see what others are getting charged. How can I promise someone a rate when I don't work there?? Be carefull cause it sounds to me like the customers are not important to this stylist!!! If she was a good business woman then she would have discussed this face to face. Perhaps giving a heads up that her rates are different, thanks for the referral ,but no....for being a loyal customer YOU get an email saying I ""undermined"" her rates! REALLY?????

    A friend of mine and my partner referred us to Mark and Eddie, owners of Altered Image, and Mark fit me in and gave me a GREAT haircut! How lucky am I to get ""discounted"" prices everywhere I go because he charged me $40 too!!!
