Friends Automotive
Just to let folks know I am not affiliated with Friends Auto repair in any way; I am just writing this review because James at Friends Auto is probably the best and most honest mechanic I have run across in my 61 years. He and his team are not only polite and courteous, but they never have failed in repairing my old Buick LaSabre at reasonable and fair prices. Just recently, I heard a horrible clunking sound, and James said it was my bearing on my front right tire/wheel area. He replaced a worn bearing, and now my old Buick runs great! Friends Auto Repair has fixed my leaking transmission and air conditioner, and all repairs were done with the highest degree of professionalism. If your car needs repaired, I highly recommend that you take your car to Friends Auto Repair in Duluth, GA and ask for James. You will be glad you did!

Atlanta Classic Cars/Mercedes Benz Dealer
I have purchased a number of new cars, but this was my first Mercedes Benz. Our sales consultant, John Swinwood, was incredibly helpful. Since we knew nothing about the cars, he took many hours to walk us through the options and let us test drive numerous models. He was very knowledgable and when he didn't know he was quick to say so and got us the answers quickly. Once we selected a car, the negotiation was very up front and low pressure. I've done extensive online research before and after the purchase and feel confident we got a better than fair deal. We are very pleased with this transaction from beginning to end.Mike & Windy in Johns Creek, GA

Classic Collision of Gwinnett Place
The man that helped us was extremely polite, professional and an amazing representative for Classic Collision. He communicated well with myself and the insurance company, exceeding expectations throughout the entire process. He was friendly and efficient during drop-off and pick-up. Customer service couldn't have been better and I am very happy with the quality of the work performed. I hope to not require collision repair anytime in the future but if I do, there is no doubt that I will bring my car to Classic. Keep up the good work!!!

They made a pretty nasty scratch disappeared on my car. They are nice enough to do a go-around on my car to buff out half a dozen of other slight scratches for free (not something I asked for when I solicit their quote for my job). And when I get the car back, the whole outside has basically gone thru a nice detailing job. Lastly, they are nice enough to park my car inside and in the shade so when I go pick up my ride, it wasn't baking out in the sun. I highly recommend Classic Collision!

Mr. Transmission & Total Car Care
I worked with Perry at the shop last week and he was easy to speak and deal with it. I got my truck towed from another shop for free within 30 minutes of calling. They had me out of the shop with rebuilt tranny, new torque converter and new tranny cooler in a day! Even helped me out after that with an unrelated issue for the best price anyone could hope for!! Perry was able to tell me where they were every step of the job. Will certainly refer people from now!

There attitude and personality was great. He was such a professional and made a unpleasant situation pleasant. The gm of this location was great and so kind. Thank you guys for all the hard work you all did to my car and making me feel like family.

last Sunday my check engine light came on so had it diagnosed and they said it might be the spark plugs or distributor so on Monday I booked an appointments to see James at Friends Auto, you have to book as they are always busy which is always a good sign of anywhere, he went over it and said there was nothing wrong, no charge, I never go anywhere else as he is truly the most honest mechanic.

Mr. Transmission & Total Car Care
I had a very difficult issue with the transmission in my Jaguar. It took over 6 weeks to resolve and cost me a lot of income and extra expense. In spite of the additional personal cost to me and the business, Tim at Mr. Transmission did everything he said he would do to fix the problems. He and folks at his business showed themselves to be the epitome of customer service and honesty.

Recommended me to replace transmission, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, anti-freeze, parts/ labor. Mr. Transmission fixed my car in 3 days, my car did not need all the parts Kia told me. Saved me a lot of money, thank you Mr. Transmission.

We've been taking our cars to Friends for several years now. From oil changes to major servicing they have been wonderful to work with! Before purchasing pre-owned - even certified pre-owned cars we always have James check them out - in fact for us his certification means more than anything else!Highly recommend!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
