Just to let folks know I am not affiliated with Friends Auto repair in any way; I am just writing this review because James at Friends Auto is probably the best and most honest mechanic I have run across in my 61 years. He and his team are not only polite and courteous, but they never have failed in repairing my old Buick LaSabre at reasonable and fair prices. Just recently, I heard a horrible clunking sound, and James said it was my bearing on my front right tire/wheel area. He replaced a worn bearing, and now my old Buick runs great! Friends Auto Repair has fixed my leaking transmission and air conditioner, and all repairs were done with the highest degree of professionalism. If your car needs repaired, I highly recommend that you take your car to Friends Auto Repair in Duluth, GA and ask for James. You will be glad you did!

The man that helped us was extremely polite, professional and an amazing representative for Classic Collision. He communicated well with myself and the insurance company, exceeding expectations throughout the entire process. He was friendly and efficient during drop-off and pick-up. Customer service couldn't have been better and I am very happy with the quality of the work performed. I hope to not require collision repair anytime in the future but if I do, there is no doubt that I will bring my car to Classic. Keep up the good work!!!

Hendrick collision is a ripoff, and cheated my insurance company out of $6,600 - $3,300 was in LABOR Hendrick kept my car 15 days after insurance approval was made. My front BUMPER was torn off and they had to order a part that took over a week, and excuse after excuse why my car was not ready. On day 15 my insurance adjuster was notified my car was ready not me. I looked over their work and a small previous white scratch was still there. I asked the guy where did they paint, and he replied only the front bumper and part of the driver's door that was damaged. For $6,600 you'd think a complete paint job would have been done. The guy couldn't explain all the ridiculous charges on the TWO page bill. My car is only worth $13,000 and they charged me half of that to fix a BUMPER, I don't recommend Hendrick to anyone.

Absolutely ridiculous experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The only things you should expect would be a headache, Zero accountability, missed deadlines, awful communication and terrible customer service. I chose them for a repair and should have known what I was dealing with when after the estimate and before the parts were ordered or in, they told me to bring the car in. What?! For what? They didn't have an answer. They decided my point was valid. Order the parts, call me when they are in, and I'll bring the car in for a quoted 3 day repair. On a Monday, they said bring the car on Thursday, that's when the parts will be in. I gave them till the following Monday. I Called them....NO PARTS. Also....no answers or eta. It took a week more before they got what they needed and I had to call to follow up and confirm with them every time. They said the car would be done by Friday. Lie. No warning, no call, no explanation. I called to confirm I could pick up, only to be told it would be ready Tuesday. I was told they'd call back with an explanation. Friday evening came and went and the manager Chris never called back. Tuesday came and went. No car. No call. Wednesday morning, I get the oops...."Just realized no one called , car will be ready after 2." No sorry. No explanation why this took days longer than promised. Nothing. I am beyond disgusted with this place. I don't even trust the quality of work to the car. ....how can I? They couldn't do the simple things right.

We've been taking our cars to Friends for several years now. From oil changes to major servicing they have been wonderful to work with! Before purchasing pre-owned - even certified pre-owned cars we always have James check them out - in fact for us his certification means more than anything else!Highly recommend!

Had car checked out at another mechanic to get diagnostic, was shopping around for repair prices and gave complete information. This shop had the lowest estimate, come to find out later they were not including half of the work in that estimate (I told them the radiator and needed to be replaced as the systems were leaking into one another) Was told total cost would be around $850, which was just slightly cheaper than the other shops and came with a warranty on the parts. They then tacked on another $500 after the fact for the radiator because they did not include this in the initial estimate. Finally paid because there was no other way to get the vehicle, and had crankshaft and camshaft sensor issues that were not present initially. Took it back and was told that they would cost an additional $150 to replace. I got the district supervisor to (finally) agree to provide the labor if I bought the parts myself. Got this taken care of finally, only to have the transmission start leaking shortly thereafter. Had vehicle towed to another location within the company to get the work done...and they sent it right back to the same one that initially did the work without telling me. Currently trying to track down where my vehicle is because the district manager won't answer his phone and the store managers aren't told anything about what is going on. Extremely dissatisfied

If your insurance company tells you to take your car here do not for any reason request another place. I went here to just get an estimate and Sonny Nguyen got in the car and some how broke my cup holder cover and failed to mention it. I called and the front desk and she says the do not get into vehicles. He was seen getting into the car! Asked for the keys and everything! I proceded to call my insurance company who called and spoke to the manager. They are denying the have done any damage. It was not broke when I got out of the vehicle but was broke when I got in noticed this on my way home. I came here for an estimate I couldn't imagine coming to get my car repaired when they break things so simple as a cover and then deny it. This place deserves zero stars for they way they treat customers and their property! Take your vehicle elsewhere.

Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.

Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out.
