Ashton Auto Services
Great service and great mechanics. Had my 1999 isuzu Rodeo blow a head Gasket. these guys fixed it and my other head gasket for a great price. These guys even went thru the trouble of changing my timing belt, water pump, valvle job, spark plugs, pulleys, oil, oilf filter and thermostat! It made sense to replace all of these parts at the same time because they were all coming out anyways, might as well put new parts in... When i got the car back i found out that they even put new hoses in the car for no additional charge, because the mechanic said it just made sense!. Give these guys 5 stars, after all of the customer service and great prices. Saved me a ton! It has been over 3 months and the car still runs like new! I refer all of my family and friends to Ashton and only get great feedback!

Jaguar Service by Bacchus British
I brought my 2005 S-Type in because the check engine light was on and I was noticing a few performance issues. Shirk and his staff were able to get me right in and treated me wry very well. They went out of their way to save me money. That's right SAVE ME MONEY!!! I needed to have a few coil packs replaced and they took care of everything. Offered a loaner car while they kept mine. BONUS: When I returned to pick up my car they washed the outside including a tire shine and interior vacuum. I didn't ask for it, they just did it. If I ever need service again this is the only place I will come to.By the way, I recently relocated to Brentwood from the Midwest and drove about 30 minutes to get there. Well worth it! Best in the Bay Area!

Allen's Automotive & Towing Service
I found myself in a stranded situation with my diesel truck after I ran out of fuel, I thought I would have to have it towed and then worked on, but the mechanic at Allen's (Jeff) was incredibly helpful guiding me through what I needed to do just over the phone. After putting fuel in it and his helpfulness with telling me what to do with the fuel primer I was able to get it started with no other cost to me. I will definitely recommend this business to others. Thanks a bunch!!!

Mike's Car Clinic
I discovered Mike's place last year and I was impressed with not only the friendly and courteous customer service, but also accurate diagnostic of my old Mercury Sable's problem. Mike even personally gave me a ride home while the car's brakes were being worked on. It was also a lot better and cheaper than Ash**** in Dublin. Oil changes are also fast and quick. I'm now a loyal customer.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
