Ronald L Barbanell DDS Ddsc
I was originally referred by my general dentist to the American Dental Health Provider with offices in Long Beach, Downey, and Torrance. I visited their Downey office and met with Dr. Barbanell. I found Dr. Barbanell to be personable, honest, a skilled dentist with more than 30 years of experience, and a pioneer in perfecting dental implants. I selected him to perform my implant procedure. One of the biggest concerns for any dental implant patient is the affordability. Dr. Barbanell has dedicated his practice in making implants affordable to patients. I was examined thoroughly and then discussed the cost of the procedure. To my surprise, the cost of my implant was half of that quoted by other dentists. I was very surprised at the price difference. After a successful first implant, I went back for many more. Dr. De La Cruz, an experienced dentist practicing in the same office, supervised the remainder of the procedure to the crown stage of the implant. He gave me his total attention and his care was impeccable. I was very impressed with the dental assistants. They were very gentle, skillful, and compassionate. The front desk staff was also very pleasant, attentive and ready to answer any questions regarding billing, insurance, etc. The most impressive of all was the fact that the staff called me by name and this made me feel especially welcome.I would, without a doubt, recommend the American Dental Health Provider, and Dr. Barbanell and De La Cruz in particular, for all your dental needs.Adel Gayed

Doumanian, Gregory, DDS
Doctors are really nice. However, I had a really bad experience with their office manager. She was extremely rude and inconsiderate leaving a sour taste in my mouth. They are not really good about their customer services. I felt like I was treated more like a product than a human being. They care more about money than dealing with people. Beware of there over priced services. Please do your research before setting up a meeting. Ask a lot of questions to make sure you have your bases covered if you have insurance. Call other offices to compare prices. If you have any questions or concerns about my experience do not hesitate to message on my YP account.

Kirk Sullivan DDS
Dr. Kirk Sullivan and his staff are very professional. Their office environment is super clean and comfortable. I have never been to a better dentist and I am 70 years old. Always go to their web site before selecting a dentist. His work reflects his high class standing at USC. Dr. Sullivan takes care for a painless experience. I always ask for Karen Yoner for my 6 month cleanings. I am sure the others are great as well, but why change a perfect team?

Orthodontics of Downey
I've heard horror stories of getting braces put on, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, The doctors were very gentle and routine oriented. They never signified that there would be any serious pain involved. I think the process went well. There's been much more painful occurrences in my life. This is a good facility to come to for getting your braces put on.

Tips & Advices
While going to the orthodontist can be difficult, sometimes it's necessary. If you are concerned about tooth alignment, feel your jaw shift, or are experiencing problems like difficulty chewing or grinding your teeth, it's time to see an orthodontist.
There are generally three types of braces patients can be fitted for at the orthodontist:
  • The more traditional option, bands, wrap around most of a patient's tooth.
  • Brackets are the most popular, applied directly to the tooth in metal or plastic form.
  • Lingual braces are brackets attached to the back of teeth.
People of all ages can wear braces to straighten their teeth, but it is most common to be fitted for these adjustments between the ages of 10 and 14. This is the time when teeth are better able to be straightened because the head and mouth are still developing.
The American Board of Orthodontics recommends finding a dental specialist that is board-certified, offers free or reduced-price consultations, and displays qualities such as trustworthiness, ability to communicate effectively, and attentiveness.
Orthodontists must complete a four-year undergraduate program to gain admission to dental school. After earning a Doctor of Dental Science degree at an accredited four-year dental program, students must then either complete a post-degree training program or one to two years residency in orthodontics. Then they need to earn a state license in order to practice. Certain states also require board certification.
