Gerber Collision & Glass
I already posted this on another site, but it was worth posting here also.I had a minor fender bender. Even though I live in Dallas, GA, a relative highly recommended Gerber in Douglasville, GA. so, I took it there. The folks at Gerber treated me to great customer service. I knew my car was being taken care of too. They told me how long it would take to repair it and it was finished a day earlier. The night I picked up my car, Steve (I think he was shop manager or something) walked us through what they had done with the car. Ashley told me all the insurance stuff was taken care of and gave me coupons for future service (one was for a windshield repair, which I thought was worth hanging on to.) They both walked me out to make sure I was happy with the work. It's been a while since I've experienced that level of customer service. It was worth the extra miles to take my car there. Thanks Gerber!!

ABS Automotive
ABS was referred to me by a friend who trusted them with their Mercedes. So I took my Lexus to them because of an electrical problem. They fixed with no problem and wasn't too expensive like some mechanics tend to be. My car broke down again this time I was stranded all the way in NW Atlanta and I live in Douglasville. I couldn't get a Tow from anyone close by, so I tried my trusty local ABS, and never to disappoint they not only came through for me, but they came in a timely manner, and towed my vehicle back to Douglasville.(no way did I want to leave it out there) Lamont replaced the needed part and fixed the problem and the car runs good. They've earned my trust as a top notch mechanic and they're very affordable. So trustworthy, professionalism, affordable, and excellent work on foreign cars. You can't go wrong with these guys.

Wren's Body Shop
My husband and I have used Wren's Body Shop several times in the last 5 years. Wren's Body Shop has been a local business in our community for decades. Wren's not only does a great job on your vehicle but they offer excellent customer service. The staff from the receptionist to the actual guys working on my car have been helpful and polite. In a world where many companies have little to no customer service, Wren's has exemplified what all businesses should strive to accomplish. They have a lifelong customer in our family! Thanks Phil, James, and crew!

Wren's Body Shop
These people are amazing. Our truck was wrecked recently and not only are they offering a lifetime guarantee of the repairs but when the insurance company would only agree to pay for a small, compact vehicle as a rental , Wrens offered to pay the difference of the proper size vehicle that we needed. They are wonderful. You just don't see this kind of excellent customer service in this day and age.

J & C Auto Repair
Took a G-6 Pontiac there that a BAD roaring noise from the drivers side. Left the car there and these guys called within an hour and a half with the diagnosis......bad wheel hub. They even gave me a choice. Go with another genuine GM part or an after market one(Autozone) at a much better price. We went the less expensive route. They were done with it within 2 hours. Top notch service.

I had a intake manifold installed on my daughters car. I found out the next day when she sit a check engine light and squealing noise that they fail to re install the pcv valve back into the w manifold. I can't trust lack of attention to detail.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
