Aspen Commons Animal Hospital
I have gone here for many years and Dr James is the best of the best. His long years of experience have served my pets well. Once, when he was out of town, I took my dog to a very famous, very expensive emergency clinic near by. I was taken care of by "intern" who flippantly quipped, "Oh, your dog has congenital heart failure. I give her 2 weeks or 2 months to live." Dr James' Clinic called the next day as a follow up, but I thought my dog was a goner. So, I didn't go went back because the very famous clinic told me there was nothing that could be done for my dog. However, a month later, I rushed to Aspen Commons expecting it was the end for my dog. Her breathing was labored and I felt sure that we would be putting her to sleep.Dr James looked at her and said," I am not ready to throw in the towel. Let's dry her lungs out and see what happens." Through his wonderful care she lived a full and happy two more years, not the two weeks/ months the very famous clinic had given her.My mother's dog also suffers from heart failure and with this care is living a happy, active life.

Hermosa Veterinary Clinic
My dogs needed shots updated did a walk fast and easy! Best part is that my regular vet clinic was charging me 100 extra from what this place charged me! This place totally saved me a couple bucks! What I payed for here covered two dogs and at other places would only cover one for the same exact vaccine updates! Best price around ! Recommended if u don't mind waiting a bit to be seen and have the time. I was lucky to go in and out and done ! Totally Inexpensive beats any other place around for vaccines and even for other things you need done on your dogs! (Price wise ) just one thing though calling in prob won't get you to far! Waiting on the phone for help is horrible your better of walking in.

Gentle Touch Animal Hospital
Dr. Greg Dobkin is the best! I love love love him because he is the best intelligent vet who really cares about your pet. I promice it! He saved "my life" when my shiba doge was in trouble three times for past year. He is really love his job for my opinion. There weren't waiting time at all. I called them and they always said that they were waiting for me. The office stuff even opened the door for us because I told them by phone that how I feel this is emergency. I had totally different experience with VCA Alameda East Veterinary where all vets talking about money only. Anyway, I want to say that Gentle Touch Animal Hospital is a home for me and my dog Bruno forever now!

Hermosa Veterinary Clinic
Saved my dog's life! I took my puppy to two other vets before coming here. They obviously are more experienced and the doctor actually explained the problems to me. He actually took the time to go over different scenarios instead of just assuming like the other vets did. My dog suffered for six days thanks to ridiculous vets. At least I got him here in time. The staff is wonderful and made a super stressful time a bit less stressful. The clinic seems always busy but with their staff and their prices it is well worth it.

Hermosa Veterinary Clinic
I have been taking my dog ot hermosa for his chronic ear problems and the vet there has been just fantastic with him. yes there is a wait always and the phone service can be a challenge but it is also because they are just incredibly busy. If you have the patience to wait the price VERY afforable and I have always felt that he truly cared about my dog.

Gentle Touch Animal Hospital
Dr. Dobkin is outstanding and really takes the time to do a thorough evaluation and encourages communication. The entire staff is professional and caring and the office is new and no smells! It is easy to get in for an appointment and the wait times are minimal. We have been to 4 other vet offices due to moves and their prices are very reasonable!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Kurth has been to the well being of my animals in treating them all 3 dogs and the consideration that he has shown to me and to allof his patient Guardians at the cashiers' desk. He has been a blessing to our community in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. A true Angel and human being with a Conscience!

Great Veterinarians and staff! Thanks Hermosa for everything! I brought my dog in for his yearly check-up and the staff was great. They made me really feel like my dogs health came first and foremost. I was treated with respect and really wanted to share my experience and hope everyone gives this place a try, you wont regret it.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
