YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.
Pet Stores With Sugar Gliders For Sale in Denver, CO
974 Monaco Pkwy
I've bought all three of my birds from Karen at The African Grey, and all three have come to me as happy, extremely healthy, and well adjusted birds. Like many others, the first time I walked in the store I did not have a good impression either. I was not greeted, and in fact did not feel welcome at all. As I've come to know her better though, I've realized that Karen saves her "gush" for her birds, which is what I'd rather she did. She loves and cares for those birds as if they were her children. She's in the store every morning cutting up fresh fruit and vegetables to feed, then goes home at night to cook a meal to be heated up the next day. If Joe Stranger off the street thinks the end result looks like "watery mush," that's too bad. There are a lot of birds in Colorado who are happy and thriving on Karen's "watery mush." Mine happen to be three of them. I know of no other "Pet Store" that goes that extent to ensure the animals are fed a nutritious diet every day the way she does. Additionally, the birds receive nuts once or twice a week to supplement their meal, and birds who *require* a seed diet receive a premium mixed seed diet every day. Two or three times a week, every bird in the store is treated to a drenching spray baths or an extra deep water dish for the birds who like to "soak." A customer who walks into the store one time for 20-30 minutes is unlikely to see all of these things. There is a reason the store doesn't open until 10 or 11 o'clock in the morning each day. Staff begins arriving at the store at 0630 every morning to begin the daily routine of cleaning the cages; peeling, cutting, and chopping, fruits and veggies; feeding and bathing birds; scrubbing floors and more cages; feeding again; playing; loving; talking; sweeping; mopping; and everything else that goes along with taking care of a bird. Are there things I would change if I could? Sure. I'm pretty sure there are things Karen would change if SHE could, but maybe they're not options right now. Regardless, I think she's doing a magnificent job. I will be buying my next bird from Karen at the African Grey, and every bird thereafter.

I love this place. I love the owners. I love the products and how this business always reminds me why I would rather buy from local instead of chains. I go in and they remember my dog's name, they are a wealth of knowledge and are willing to help me find products if they do not carry them. I have even had them special order things, which they always do with a smile. The owners are constantly helping out the local community and charitable groups and I am willing to pay a little more knowing my dollar is going back into the community (and hopefully help some homeless pets). Also are in the ""know"" about local resources pet owners might need, they helped me find the right vet which I am thankful for. They also own the best Dog daycare in the Glendale area that I drive extra miles to know that my dog is in the best hands.

4.Jurassic Pets Lakewood
1695 Wadsworth Blvd
As an employee of a large corporate pet store (and thereby technically competition), I can safely say that these people know their business. I frequently refer people to Jurassic Pets when I am faced with a customer who needs specific (or obscure) reptile/amphibian/arachnid items or information.I frequent the store myself, as I have a finicky ball python who refuses to eat frozen/thawed. Every time I'm there, I feel welcome, valued, and I never leave feeling like I was just another transaction. I feel confident with each purchase that I have obtained quality goods, and that I have supported a good mom-and-pop store. What I find interesting to note specifically is that I *cannot* in good conscience refer customers in my own store to their competition/former proprietors. I have heard too many stories - from customers themselves - of the terrible care taken of the animals kept at Scales'n'Tails. I can, however, feel confident in referring customers to Jurassic Pets, as I know firsthand how well they provide proper lighting, heat, humidity, and nutrition for even their most exotic creatures. Animal care at a pet store is no easy task, believe me. They do it very well, and are attentive to every detail and every need of their menagerie. They're also extremely ethical in their sales, meaning they won't just sell a living thing willy-nilly to some yahoo who doesn't care if it dies from neglect. They carefully weigh their customers' intentions, and parse out those who would mistreat or neglect their animals. Due to that careful consideration (and care in the animals' future well-being), I am able to refer customers to them for adopting out pets they can no longer care for. Have an oscar you can't handle anymore? Or a snake that your son left behind when he moved to Bolivia? How about a plecostomus that's ten sizes too big for your tank? Talk to them and see if they can take it in to rehome. They'll take great care of them and find them a good place to live.Whatever you've heard or experienced about their past, before being privately owned, you can pretty well forget. This new management is amazing, ethical, honest, sincere, and knowledgeable. I'd recommend them - and do - every time.

The Whole Cat & Dog Too is a great pet store in Platt Park. I like that it is a small business in my neighborhood. Their store is bigger than it initially looks when you walk in the front door - there are lots of nooks & crannies. The owners and staff are all extremely knowledgeable and will give their advice when asked. It is always my first place to shop (unless I am out of cat food and it is after hours.) If you don't see it - just ask!
