Italian Restaurants in Denver, CO
1.Anthony's Pizza & Pasta
7472 E 29th Ave
The pizza tastes good but stops there. I bought one slice and one beer(budweiser) for almost $9. It was delivered to me on a single thin paperplate that soon dissengrated and was almost to the point of tearing. Between my pizza and the table was a wet sloppy piece of paper (the so called plate). Great with all the H1N1 scare going around..who ate their before me and did they carry the virus. They should at least provide you with a safe plastic plate for $9! Maybe ok if you want to go carry out and spend a lot of money. The taste is still good and the staff is friendly..just not sanitary conditions right now

4.Joyce's Famous Pizza
2120 S Broadway Unit D
I was hoping for a good hole in the wall place, but I got a mediocre every other type of place. The prices aren't bad, but the fact you get stale cold cheese pizza with a few toppings you wanted tossed on to be heated for a few minutes in an oven makes you want to stay clear. Perhaps if it were fresh or they cared about what was served it would be worth the return. For now, there are so many other places, better places.

While some of the reviews have striking points, overall they seem quite incompetent( the negative ones at least). For people who make such bold statements about a good place, they seem to be forgetting how credibility goes out the window when their reviews are shrouded by spelling and grammer errors. For christ's sake if you're going to be so critical, at least spell your f!@king s*#t right!

The only entree if have enjoyed, and I have done it a lot, is the pizza. I LOVE pizza and this is about the best I have found in Denver. Now that I think of it, I have also had rolls and chips & salsa since that is complementary. Both are fantastic as well. Fair prices, fine service and great pizza. I would bet a paycheck the other items are good I just cannot stop getting the pizza long enough to find out!

8.Bruno's Italian Bistro
2223 Monaco Pkwy
Under new ownership and management (well, sort of new - since about 2007/2008), this place is hugely improved. The service is very friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent. Very nice people, and a great place to have some outstanding Italian food without spending too much.
9.Gennaro's Italian Restaurant
2598 S Broadway
This place is incredible! Don't let the exterior fool you, once inside you will be amazed! It's got a funky retro bar along side an artsy, cozy little restaurant, pretty cool. I've been here several times and have enjoyed each and every one! The giant pizza has herbs baked into the crust and spicy sauce like nothing I've tasted before. I've enjoyed many of the entrees so far, they have all been fantastic not to mention about enough for 3 meals! Don't miss the House Specialty app Bruscheesee (not sure how to spell it, only how to eat it!), it's a special twist on bruschetta that you won't forget! As for staff, I have never had a bad experience here, they are always friendly and overly attentive. The prices in this place are rediculously reasonable to, I have to say this is one of my favorite eateries in this city!
10.The Cherry Tomato
4645 E 23rd Ave
Cherry Tomato is one of my favorite places in Denver. It is such a cute little neighborhood restaurant with lots of charm and reasonable prices.\r \r The Carbonara is AMAZING. My boyfriend and I crave it and usually get it every time. The Seafood Ravioli is also very good.\r \r I have brought family here a few times and everyone is always pleased with their meal and the atmosphere.

Excellent food & service! Like the local too!!
12.Maggiano's Little Italy
500 16th St
I love eating at Maggiano's. Although it is always crowded, the service is excellent and fast. The chopped salad is enough for several people - we usually share an entree because the portions are large. Been here for lunch and dinner - always good!
13.Carmines On Penn
92 S Pennsylvania St
I am relatively new to Denver and a friend in town suggested we go there this past week for dinner. I went with a group of 6 and we had a great time. The staff were very good at their job and amusing to boot. The best thing I liked was when one of us suggested we order an entree that the server did not feel was a good value, he let us know. The wine list had a very good variety of options at reasonable prices. Most of the list was under the 50 dollar mark. Overall the food was very good and the portions were huge. We enjoyed ourselves and I feel I have found a restaurant worth returning to in Denver which isn't as easy as I thought it would be.

Hostess was very accomodating for a mom with a baby at lunch! Thanks!!
3030 E 6th Ave
Wow!!! There is not a single thing I would change about this restaurant. That is rare for me to say. Usually there is something that missed. This restaurant is PERFECT!! Let's start as we get there. Complimentary valet parking...as we were trying to find a spot, we saw this and were excited. Little things, you know. We get in and we were missing one of our party (who didn't make it) and without missing a beat, we got sat at an appropriately sized table. This was just last night. \r \r Now for the server, Andrew: he is getting his own paragraph. Anyone who wants to be a professional waiter, should sit at one of his tables and just observe. It was all about the little things, helping with wine selection, meal choices, everything. He understood the little nuances. When I questioned the bottle of wine, he even brought me a glass of something else to see if I liked it more. It turned out, the bottle was very young and just needed to open up. So, basically, the best waiter in town. \r \r As for the food: Here is what was ordered: roasted tuna appetizer (absolutely phenominal-although Randolph's wraps are more to my tastes), the gnocchi with crab (absolutely amazing), NY Strip Steak (amazing by all accounts), Halibut (simply perfect) and my meal the seafood plate. This was the best meal, I have ever had in Denver. I cook a lot, and I eat out a lot. This was the BEST meal I have had in Denver. \r \r So, the long and short of it, phenomenal.
17.Firenze a Tavola
4401 Tennyson St
1550 Cleveland Pl
We're from Vegas, and have traveled the world tasting food from various hotels and privately owned restaurants. We got the special when we were at Bravo! and this short Asian guy was our cook for the night. We were watching him cook through the open kitchen. The food was amazing! Later found out from other sources, that it was his recipe and his special for the night. I asked for seconds. \r \r Truely, this young kid knows his food, spices, and how to entice emotions from his cooking. I can only call him . . . Dr. Watson...bringing chemistry into his food.\r \r Watson elevated Italian cuisine, brought it east, and presented it with bravado unexpected in a chef so unheralded, so young, so . . . Watson is pulling punches on the flavors that established his brand in the future. I hope this kid keep up his cooking and bring us more flavorful food that taps into our emotions.\r \r I went back the next night and he was not working. I would have to say the food was only average. Is this even an Italian Restaurant? Who came up with that menu? Where is that special I am craving for?\r
19.The Walnut Room
3131 Walnut St
I starting working a few blocks away about 6 months ago and finally got to try this place (my bf used to practice here and always raved). It is my new favorite, I eat here at least once a week. Great sandwiches and pizzas. Staff can be a bit spacey, but all very pleasant and nice.
20.Villa Italian Kitchen
9100 Pena Blvd
Come to Villa Italian Kitchen at 9100 Pena Blvd, Denver, CO for a delicious Italian meal. Villa Italian Kitchen was founded with one store, one family and one concept in 1964, when our founder, Michele “Michael” Scotto brought his authentic old-world recipes from Naples, Italy to New York City. Michele’s commitment to hospitality, quality ingredients, like homemade dough, 100% whole milk mozzarella and fresh sauce and the strict loyalty to those now famous recipes, built the business. From that first Villa Pizza that opened in 1964, next to the CBS/Ed Sullivan Theater on Broadway, to nearly 300 Villa Italian Kitchen restaurants later, our commitment to quality and genuine hospitality remains the basis of our foundation. In 2014, Villa Italian Kitchen and its parent company Villa Restaurant Group celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Today, Villa is under the leadership of Michele’s two sons Biagio “Ben” Scotto and Anthony Scotto. Together, they continue the vision and passion of their father extending the genuine hospitality inspired by their father.
21.Lo Stella Ristorante

Lo Stella Ristorante is the oldest and most successful family owned restaurant operation in Portofino, Italy. It is one of the country's most renowned historic family owned and operated restaurants for more than 165 years. Now, downtown Denver is home to this historically famed Italian restaurant, led by the 8th generation family member, Alessandro Polo. Alessandro wanted to create an environment that would serve as a place to relax and indulge in outstanding, authentic Italian dishes while being served by a warm and inviting staff. With coveted family recipes and the freshest ingredients, this Italian fine dining experience is unparalleled and is a feast for the senses. Lo Stella Ristorante has also had 25 years of great success in Tokyo, Japan until 2013 when Alessandro decided to move to Denver to open this authentic Italian Restaurant. For example in Liguria, where Portofino is located, you cannot find the same food that you find in Tuscany or Sicily. At Lo Stella Ristorante you will find the original recipes from previous generations like Pesto sauce, Bolognese sauce, marinara, fish ravioli, vegetable ravioli, pappardelle, tagliatelle, pizza and many other Colorado meat and fish products cooked in our style. Alessandro has only one request: "Please don't ask me for Alfredo sauce, Meatball Spaghetti or chicken in the pasta, we are Italian for real!" Italian Restaurant is not a job, it's a passion!
