I have been a long time resident of Denver and unfortunately my stylist moved away. So, a friend recommended Vida salon to me, but warned me of the pretentious nature of its stylists. She advised not to go to Bradley, Vinny or Emily because they always seemed to have personal issues interfering. So, I went to Emma being she was available and I figure was safe. Wrong. Lets start with the cut. I realize the younger kids want funky but I asked for a modest normal cut, and got something opposite. I'm not sure if it was an attempt at style or just a lack of talent, but it wasn't what I wanted. Then, the color. Again, I'm not sure if it was an attempt at style being she is pushing the frumpy cute level herself, but I did not get a color that was right. Blond is blond, not goldish...the whole thing was a disaster. Maybe she is new and learning but I think the prices didn't reflect that and someone should have told me I was a guinea pig. The funny thing is, I also overheard Emily discussing her hangover from the night before, with one of the other stylists, which I find extremely tacky and unprofessional. Anyhow, I will not be retuning to Vida.
I have fallen love with Ergo salon, Aveda, the girls at the front desk (they're all beautiful inside & out), and my newest love is the awesome adorable Kylie who styled my hair today! I've been needing this for a while, but just didn't know who to trust. I've had some bad experiences and I've done worse myself. I was sure when I told Kylie to remove the dead & damaged hair, that she was going to have to shave my head bald! But it wasn't as bad as I thought since I've been using Aveda. And Kylie fixed me! And my hair too of course! She gave me a style that I love, and that was just for starters! She used products that made my hair look and feel so healthy-even after all the damage I've done! She's also convinced me to come back so she can do a color- the real way, not out of a box, which is all I've ever used. She taught me things about my own hair that I didn't even know and she even showed me how to blow dry my hair so I can get the same look at home myself!
Diego Huizar at Salon Vo is phenomenal!!! My last good stylist moved back to Russia and I floated around for a year or two with bad hair. I saw Salon Vo while leaving my appointment at Dr. Reval's office, and met Diego after reading other positive reviews of his online. He is SO very talented. He looks the part, acts the part, is a true artist, approachable and friendly. He trained under the very best in Cherry Creek, and it's very obvious when you visit him. He is no amateur.Diego quickly turned my cruddy hair into beautiful, shiny, gorgeous hair with a great shape. The color he does is the best I've ever had, and the best I've ever seen. His smoothing treatments are life changing, and my new cut allows me to wake up, do my hair fast and efficiently, and I have never received so many compliments in my life! Don't waste your time going elsewhere. Diego has the magic touch, and his talents and service are unmatchable. And, he's SUPER nice!!
Moving 600 miles means finding lots of new personal service providers. It often takes a while to find someone you really like to do your hair. I randomly selected Ergo Aveda based on its Stapleton location. My initial consultation was with Eddie Romero. What a lucky break for me! Eddies impressed me with his analysis skills - my hair, my face type, my skin, my lifestyle. What he thought would work for me and why. I've had two appointments with him now, and a third coming up. My color match is excellent. The new cut Eddie suggested gets me lots of compliments. He is young, smart, creative, and fun - an up and comer! You'd be very smart to check him out! Also, the salon is excellent in communicating with you regarding appointments and such. Parking is easy and the salon atmosphere is friendly and inviting.
I am not an easy customer. My hair is fine, there is a lot of it, and I am blonde. Those three things are most stylists' worst nightmare. However, when I sat down in Phil Lombardo's chair today, not only was he up for the challenge, but he was also the kindest, most professional stylist I have ever had. He gave me the best haircut of my life, and helped take my "entirely-too-blonde" hair back to a softer, more multi-dimensional blonde that is much closer to my natural hair color. If you need a new stylist, or are looking for someone who will listen with his whole heart, treat you like a best friend, and give you a style that is truly your own, look no further than Phil Lombardo of The Parlour Highlands!
