Greatest auto repair shop ever! Very reasonable prices, really great with VWs!!!! I was getting ripped off at other places, but this place knows what they are doing and their prices are always lower than I expect, way way lower than other places.

Ted And Sons Automotive Services
We use Ted & Sons when we need auto repairs. I asked around and saw positive reviews. All of my dealings have been great. A couple different times we would go there with a problem Jerry or his brother would fix it in just a few minutes and then say no charge. Each time I didn't expect it and I thought it would be at least $100. Another time I turned on the AC an smoke came out the air vent. They sent use over to Orange city Auto Elect. It is an Honest company because honest people work there. They do little things for nothing when they can they repair autos right the first time at a fair price. I highly recommend them. Bill Watford

DeLand Collision Center
I had an accident which was someone else's fault - so I can't speak to the cost. I only know that they were very helpful. My father had just died and I had no paperwork with me as my life was in chaos. They pulled the information and took care of things for me. They have excellent customer service. And as stated in someone else's review, the car was cleaner inside and out when it was returned to me. I can't even tell there was ever any damage to the car. And I have a lifetime guarantee as long as I own this car. They made a tough time a little easier for me.I would recommend them to anyone needed body work to their vehicle.

Don's Auto Repair
This shop is the best for price and knowledge. I've been going to Don since my parents had their cars repaired there. They always are very friendly. Sometimes they very busy and need to keep my car over night, but always have it done on time.

Starling Chevrolet-Cadillac
Purchased a vehicle from them and bought the service package from them based on the salesman's pitch. Before I purchased it I asked the sales guy if it was transferable because I knew I was moving out of state in two weeks. I was told that it was. Well that was a flat out lie, I did not find out that it wasn't transferable until I went to use it about 6 months after I bought the car. When I contacted the dealership about it, it took my like 3 calls to get anyone that could help on the phone, once I did they said to email them a form and they would take care of it. They never responded back to the email I sent so I tried calling them again to verify that the cancellation had been done. When I finally got a hold of the person who was suppose to be handling it, he said he would verify it with the warranty company and get back to me. He, of course, never did. To date, I still have no clue if this has been handled or if they refunded the entire amount of my contract. I am tired of calling them and trying to play nice, maybe all the bad reviews I leave them might prompt them to action. This dealership has been awful in their handling of this entire situation. If you deal with them, you better check everything they tell you before you sign anything.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
